I'm already contemplating it, but I'll still need to wait a few weeks to be 100% sure What about you Jonny? Willie

from what i hear so far thinking about it for too long may not be good
the tour only needs 96 players and if the interest shown so far is anything to go by it will be reached in the first couple of days of registration

I haven't seen any of the promotional material but surely this new tour won't turn people away.
I pretty sure I'll be giving it a go by the way.

We've had some really good feedback, which is very reassuring. The new format is quite a radical change from what we've known in the past in so many ways. I have to admit that, though deep down I knew it was the way to go because it offers some many advantages, I was very nervous about it because it's so untested in the British American Pool community. I'm glad to say I'm no longer so nervous about it at all because of the feedback received from all sorts of players and I think pooljedi is right in that the limited places will fill up fast. Just to let you know what will happen next because a lot of people ask... we'll get the website up and running very soon (probably quite rudimentary to start with because we are not going to use your tour fees to pay professional web designers!). The site will include a form for you all to formally register your interest and provide comments to us. Then once we've completed a few more key steps in the project we'll launch the on-line application process. Once your application is accepted and your first installment is paid you'll be a member of the tour. I can't give you precise dates for when all this will happen just yet but we will definately be looking for application and first installments before 31 December (hopefully much sooner). I thought the form I filled and handed in at the Barnsley event was an application?
Anyways, the new format has a main event and two mini events (one for top 32, one for the rest). Will the 'dummy' event be open or will everything be restricted to the 96 guys on the tour.
Also, how would you get on the tour after next season? Would you throw off the bottom 8 and organise qualifiers or something to replace them?

well done lee for taking time out to steer 9 ball in this country in the right direction,
the game clearly needed a doer not a just a talker.
i am a definite for the new tour, when do you need committment of this ?
also if i want to be part of the pro section can you confirm thats a definite for me or do you have to wait to see how many of the top players are on board ?
cheers
adam..

Some really good ideas here riggers, I wonder where you got them from? Seriously though the new tour will offer more for the top players and the amateurs at all levels. Fantastic that you have been able to get everyone together to make it happen.
You will have to get yourself over here at some point so we can play. I have improved alot since playing with all these filipinos.

Johnny - The form you filled in was simply providing your email address and giving feedback, not an application. GB9BT has no plans to operate open events. The BPPPA can fill this gap by offering some one-off open events, especially (but not restricted to) other disciplines besides 9 ball. Adam - thanks for your support. Keep an eye out here for the website launch and that will give you all the information you need, the first step being to formally register your interest as mentioned above. When we launch the online application form you will be able to apply as a Pro but, like you say, we'll need to wait for all the applications to come in before we can confirm your pro status for season 1. (I don't even know if my own application for pro section will be accepted!) Lefty - good to hear from you after all this time pal. yeh, it's no secret where the idea came from but it just needed someone to get up and do it! I'll definately come over and take your money, but do not have enough time off work this year so it will have to be in the new year. Keep in touch mate. I can't wait either! As I said, if you don't want to pay for a professional designer.. then I will do all the graphics for no charge.
I just don't have the time to code it. So I'd send you a sliced photoshop layout for somebody else you know to code it.
