Hi, i am running a 9 ball comp at Nottingham rileys. 9th September, 11.30 Registration 12.00 start I am hoping to run it in groups with the top 2 going into a single elim k/o £10 entry. I am open to suggestions as to how this should be run, if people would prefer i can switch to a double elim, or even single elim with a plate for the 1st 2nd round loses. All entry money will be paid out in prizes, however there won't be any trophies for this one. Any thoughts or questions about this would be appreciated. Kevin... Admin Edit: Post and poster amended to avoid date clash. (Previously 12 August, then 2 September, now 9 September). [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2007-07-16 15:55 ]

Thanks Shir, Big Dave already let me know. I am hopefully going to make it a once a month event so anyone who is interested and fancies a go won't have to wait to long for the next one. I already know a few locals that will be going so we will still have enough to get things started. Thanks anyway. Kev..

Kev, Why not take the locals up to Barnsley instead this time around. Entry is £30 + £5 for non-BPPPA members so not that bad. It will be good experience for them. Then have your first monthly comp the month after and we'll return the favour by coming to support your event. Doesn't make sense having 2 events on same day in 2 towns so close together because one or both comps will suffer from fewer entries as we saw with 2 other events that clashed recently. Coca Championship Fixture August 11th Barnsley vs Coventry City I'm spotting the potential for a weekend away in sunny barnsley combining the football with the pool and a few beers inbetween!

I think that's the date proposed for the scotch doubles in Ipswich, though it's not on the Pro9 calendar yet. Check the pro9 calendar but I'd go for the 9th if I were you. I know this one is a long way off but if anyone is planning on coming to this it would be useful to know in advance. just so i can get a rough idea how many tables i need to reserve. I have told them at the club i will need at least 8 but with time on my side i can easily arrange for more if needs be...
