FILLER, RAGA, VAN BOENING AND ALCAIDE REACH SEMI-FINALS OF EUROPEAN OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP
Joshua Filler, Anton Raga, Shane Van Boening, and David Alcaide will contest the semi-finals of the 2023 European Open Pool Championship at Hotel Esperanto, Fulda, Germany live on Sky Sports in the UK, Sport1 in Germany, DAZN in the USA, Tap Go in the Philippines and networks worldwide tomorrow.
LIVE SCORES / BRACKET
• Joshua Filler sees Fedor Gorst miss nine for win to seal victory
• Anton Raga makes maiden Matchroom major semi-final
• Shane Van Boening keeps in hunt for rewriting wrongs of 12 months ago
• David Alcaide survives almighty scare from being 8-1 up on Francisco Sanchez Ruiz to 9-8 down
Filler headed into what was billed as a clash for the ages with Fedor Gorst, a highly-anticipated contest that nobody would be able to predict how it would swing. Nerves didn't seem an issue for Filler in front of a strong sold-out home crowd in Fulda but it was Gorst who seized the early momentum for a 4-1 advantage.
Gorst was composed as he looked for a maiden semi-final at a Matchroom signature multi-table open event whilst Filler was looking to put down the demons of 12 months ago on home soil where he suffered late defeat to Shane Van Boening.
Filler looked primed for what was proved to be one of the matches as the tournament as he turned the contest on its head with six racks on the bounce for a 7-4 advantage.
In the 12th rack, Filler looked to have Gorst in a world of trouble but the latter nailed a long jump shot on the three ball to get back in for 7-5. Filler got back in the following rack to be two away from victory and leave Gorst needing a miracle for the tie to turn once again in his favour. Gorst's lifeline came at 8-5 down as he turned the tie on a dime for a gripping finish as he went into a 9-8 advantage, on the hill and one away from victory.
Gorst played what looked to be a brilliant break and run only to play a poor position off the eight leaving an awkward lie for the potentially winning nine and with the nine soon missed and left in the jaw, Filler drilled it in for hill hill. Filler broke dry in the final rack but a costly miss on the one from Gorst allowed the Killer to pounce and deliver a routine run out for victory.

HOME FAVOURITE FILLER KEEPS 2023 EUROPEAN OPEN HOPES ALIVE
Joshua Filler kept hopes of a maiden European Open Pool Championship title on home soil alive at Hotel Esperanto, Fulda, Germany live on Sky Sports in the UK, DAZN in the USA, Sport1 in Germany, and networks worldwide.
LIVE SCORES / BRACKET
Filler headed into the Last 16 in red hot form after cantering through the Last 64 and Last 32 on Friday and the former World Pool Masters winner continued on that hot streak against Mieszko Fortunski 10-8. The Killer struggled to shake off Fortunski early doors with the WNT No. 25 proving a nuisance to shake off as he took a 5-4 lead.
The turning point came with Fortunski at the table looking for 6-4 but an errant effort on the eight led Filler in to level up at 5-5 and soon run towards the finish line at 9-5. Fortunski was given a lifeline at 9-7 as Filler scratched when clearing up for victory to allow at least one more rack only for the Pole to break dry in the following rack and allow Filler in to complete victory. Fedor Gorst awaits next for the German.

16 REMAIN AT 2023 EUROPEAN OPEN POOL CHAMPIONSHIP IN GERMANY
Defending champion Albin Ouschan, Ko Pin Yi, Johann Chua, and Jayson Shaw were the heavy hitters to fall on the fourth day of the 2023 European Open Pool Championship at Hotel Esperanto, Fulda, Germany live on DAZN in the USA, and networks worldwide. The final two days live on Sky Sports.
LIVE SCORES / BRACKET
On a day that saw the field cut from 64 to the final 16, Shaw tumbled at the first hurdle of the day against defending champion Albin Ouschan despite his best efforts to salvage something in a scrappy affair which saw both players leaving balls hanging with neither at their best.
Ouschan kept Shaw at arms length for most parts before Shaw pulled it tight to 8-9. Still, he couldn't make it pay in what proved to be the concluding rack after losing position on the five to leave the table open for Ouschan to step in and reach the Last 32 against Poland's Daniel Maciol who had earlier knocked out former World Champion Mika Immonen. Maciol put on one of the strongest showings of the week so far to send the defending champion home.

LIVE SCORES / BRACKET
Four-time Mosconi Cup MVP Feijen, who reached the semi-finals of the World Pool Masters in May, was knocked into the Loser’s Qualification bracket 9-6 by Dimitris Loukatos earlier in the day, leaving a tough task against Anton Raga. Under the bright lights of the main streamed table, the Terminator had his title chances terminated, succumbing to 9-3 loss to the Filipino.

2015 WORLD SNOOKER CHAMPION BINGHAM OFF TO WINNING NINEBALL START
Stuart Bingham launched his Nineball career in sublime fashion as the 2015 World Snooker champion got the better of Lo Ho Sum and Sullivan Clark to reach Winners Qualification at the 2023 European Open Pool Championship in Fulda, Germany on day two live on DAZN in the USA and networks worldwide.
LIVE SCORES / BRACKET
Bingham was pushed for large parts of his opening contest with former World Pool Masters finalist Lo before pulling ahead at 5-5 to a 9-5 win. A match-up with New Zealand World Cup of Pool representative Clark next if he was to ensure a safe passage to tomorrow's Winners Qualification.
Clark struggled to cope with Bingham's potting prowess as he ran into an early ascendancy. Bingham, who has followed Nineball for some time, looked right at home as he cleared up for a 9-1 victory and two-time Mosconi Cup MVP Skyler Woodward in his way to reach the Last 64 at the first time of asking.

LIVE SCORES / BRACKET
As the World Nineball Tour arrived in central Europe for the second time in as many months, all eyes were on defending champion Albin Ouschan as the Austrian tried to set alight his Mosconi Cup hopes on a week where Francisco Sanchez Ruiz bagged the first automatic spot for Team Europe before a ball had even been hit. Ouschan stepped up with an opening win over Daniel Brzeziński before stepping past Panagiotis Ksipoliteas to reach the Winners' Qualification at a canter.

FRANCISCO SANCHEZ RUIZ SECURES FIRST MOSCONI CUP SPOT THROUGH WORLD NINEBALL TOUR RANKINGS
World Nineball Tour number one Francisco Sanchez Ruiz has sealed the first automatic spot from the World Nineball Tour Rankings for Team Europe’s 2023 Mosconi Cup side ahead of the trans-atlantic tussle with the USA from December 6-9 at Alexandra Palace, London live on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland.
Sanchez Ruiz has taken the World Nineball Tour by storm over the last 12 months, accumulating $60,000 WNT ranking points with the World Pool Championship crown back in February to amass an early lead on his closest rivals. The Spaniard headed into this week’s European Open Pool Championship in Fulda, Germany already assured of his spot with an advantage of $30,700 over closest rival Eklent Kaçi.
The European Open Pool Championship marks the first cut-off point for the first automatic selections for the 30th Anniversary Mosconi Cup, with further qualification announcements to follow at the US Open Pool Championship and Asian Open Pool Championship respectively.
On confirmation of his place in Pool’s most historic event, the current US Open champion couldn’t hide his excitement:
“I feel unbelievable. Last year I experienced my dream – to play at least once in the Mosconi Cup. It was the best experience of my life. I never expected anything because I had never been to the Mosconi Cup. When I entered the arena, I can’t explain what I felt – so much pressure!
