The Billiard Congress of America (BCA) Hall of Fame welcomes one of the game’s hardest working and most ferocious competitors when the Netherland’s great Niels “the Terminator” Feijen is inducted into the sport’s most prestigious club.
Feijen, 46, a two-time World Champion, was the clear choice of voters in the Greatest Players category and is the first Dutch-born player to be inducted into the BCA Hall of Fame.
Feijen will formally be inducted into the Hall of Fame on Friday, Nov. 3, at the Norfolk Sheraton Waterside Hotel in Norfolk, Va., in conjunction with the 2023 International Open pool tournament.
“Obviously, this is a huge honor,” Feijen said when informed of his election. “To be in the same club with my heroes — legends like Efren Reyes and Earl Strickland — is an amazing feeling.
“It’s something I really didn’t think about at all until about five years ago. I was still focused on trying to win tournaments. Once I was on the ballot, I know I was close a few times. You hope, but you have to tell yourself, ‘It will happen when it happens.’”

Anthony Ginn wins the 10 Ball Summer Open
Reporter: Dan Suh

Last week 32 players battled it out to claim the 2nd trophy in our 2023 Tour and a space in our Masters Final at the end of the year. There were strong players in every group and no slow starts as some were quickly claiming some whitewashes in the group stages.
Ramesh, a regular winner at our Monday night tournaments and fresh returning from playing the Spanish Open, goes from strength to strength throughout the day and didn't look like missing as he steamrolled through a tough field. But on the other side of the table,
Anthony Ginn quite simply looked unbeatable all day, seemingly unfazed by anyone who came his way. Both players entered the final deservedly after seeing off Tom Staveley and Oliver Lawrence in a couple of amazing semi-finals.
The final definitely lived up to expectation. Ram and Anthony going toe to toe with runouts being met with runouts and some outstanding safety and escape play. Then at hill-hill, Ramesh has a good chance but just gives it away at the last hurdle.
Another incredible final to watch. With the win, Anthony joins Imran in the Masters Final as the 2nd player to secure a place for the end of this year!
A huge thank you to all the players and our amazing sponsors who helped make this event happen.

THE PHILIPPINES CREATE WORLD CUP OF POOL HISTORY
The Philippines created World Cup of Pool history by claiming a record fourth title beating Germany 11-7 at Pazo de Feiras e Congresos de Lugo, Spain in partnership with The Asociación Gallega de Billar Pool (AGP), Xunta de Galicia, and EIDF Solar live on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland, DAZN in Spain, the USA, Italy, and Brazil, Viaplay in Scandinavia, the Baltics and Poland and broadcasters worldwide.
Philippines win 2023 World Cup of Pool
Germany 7-11 Philippines
From the outset, a meeting of two powerhouses of Nineball was always going to deliver drama and there was no let up from the start in a rematch of the 2009 World Cup of Pool final where it was the Philippines who came out on top.
Germany's Joshua Filler alongside Moritz Neuhausen was tasked with taking down the powerful Pinoy duo of Johann Chua and James Aranas and they had the initial upper hand by winning the lag. Despite that, it was the Philippines who took the opening rack after Filler scratched from the break whilst the second rack swung the other way after Aranas missed the nine. A brilliant break and run out in the third put Germany ahead. The Philippines hit back in the fourth after a loose Filler safety put them in to clear the table from the two.
Aranas and Chua put their nation back in front in the fifth rack after Neuhausen was forced to go airborne to find any contact on the two at 3-2.
The Philippines were gathering momentum in the contest and ramped up to a 5-2 lead after a costly foul from Germany gave the former ball in hand to extend their advantage and be six racks away from victory. A break and run in the following took the Philippines over the halfway stage toward victory. As in the previous two matches, the Philippines were doing all the early running and they built on their lead to 7-2, it was a magnificent showing of cueing.

PHILIPPINES AND GERMANY TO CONTEST 2023 WORLD CUP OF POOL FINAL
The Philippines and Germany will contest the 2023 World Cup of Pool final in a repeat of the 2009 final at Pazo de Feiras e Congresos de Lugo, Spain in partnership with The Asociación Gallega de Billar Pool (AGP), Xunta de Galicia, and EIDF Solar live on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland, DAZN in Spain, the USA, Italy, and Brazil, Viaplay in Scandinavia, the Baltics and Poland, TAP Go in the Philippines and Matchroom.Live and DAZN in Germany and broadcasters worldwide from 7pm CEST today, Sunday, 2 July.
MATCH SCHEDULE
Led by Johann Chua and James Aranas, the Filipino pairing set out to make history to become the first nation to ever win the title on four separate occasions but Austria's Mario He and Albin Ouschan stood in their way looking for their own piece of history as the first scotch doubles pairing to ever win the World Cup of Pool three times.
Austria took the opening rack put it was their counterparts who led 2-1 going into the first commercial break after two quickfire racks. As expected for a semi-final, little could separate the two nations with Ouschan and He soon swinging the contest in the opposite direction at 3-2.
In the sixth, He made a poor push out from the break which allowed Chua in for a raking effort on the two ball before the Pinoys took control for three apiece and then a lead at 5-3 with Chua playing a starring role in what looked to be turning into an excellent afternoon's work.
At 5-3, Chua played one of the shots of the tournament to cut in a five ball and squeeze the cue ball around the table for a plum position on the sixth ball, it was one of many superb efforts from the SEA Games gold medalist.
In the 11th rack with the Philippines leading 6-4, a long battle on the two broke out before He went for the jugular only to leave a bank on for the ever-dependable Chua who was putting on the performance of his life. It was excellent as Chua and Aranas went to a three-rack advantage. In the 12th, the Philippines fluked safe after Chua went for the 2-9 combo after the break, Ouschan then scratched and fouled on the nine when trying to get out of the hook which brought the Filipinos to the hill first at 8-4.
Déjà vu was about to play out for the Philippines though with such a healthy advantage just like yesterday against Chinese Taipei, Austria came back fighting in the 13th for 8-5 then 8-6 after getting ball in hand from a foul. A golden break from He cut it to 8-7 before being able to go hill hill after Chua missed a six ball with only a few balls between the Philippines and the final.
Breaking in the final rack, He scratched to give the Philippines ball in hand, and from then on, it was curtains for Austria as Chua and Aranas ran the table out to secure victory and set up with a final against the winner of Germany and China.

WORLD CUP OF POOL 2023 | AUSTRIA AND CHINA MAKE SEMI-FINALS
Austria and China joined the Philippines and Germany in the semi-finals of the 2023 World Cup of Pool at Pazo de Feiras e Congresos de Lugo, Spain in partnership with The Asociación Gallega de Billar Pool (AGP), Xunta de Galicia, and EIDF Solar to reach the quarter-finals live on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland, DAZN in Spain, the USA, Italy, and Brazil, Viaplay in Scandinavia, the Baltics and Poland and broadcasters worldwide.
MATCH SCHEDULE
Two-time winners Austria were tasked with taking down Great Britain's Jayson Shaw and Elliott Sanderson if they were to create history as being the first nation in history to win the title three times with the same scotch doubles pairing of Albin Ouschan and Mario He with the last of the two crowns coming in 2019.
Austria opened up well to take the first three racks without reply but GB stepped back up to the task despite Sanderson scratching into the bottom left pocket early in the fourth rack to make it 3-1 then 3-2. The closeness of the two European nations was short-lived though as Austria stepped into a 5-2 advantage, four more was needed for a spot in the semi-finals.
GB pulled back to 5-3 to have the break in the ninth but Sanderson's day went from bad to worse as he scratched on the break to give Austria a clean run out at the table for 6-3. The error-strewn nature of Great Britain's showing was always going to catch up with them and a long eight ball down the rail from Sanderson caught the side and was left hanging for He and Ouschan to go four ahead at 7-3.
On the hill at 8-3, Ouschan was always stretching to make a seven ball as he saw it go agonisngly the wrong way necessary for a clean out leaving GB to pick up the pieces for 8-4 and a glimmer of hope.
The contest was soon wrapped up for Austria though in the next rack with a comfortable 9-4 win setting up a tantalising semi-final with the Philippines tomorrow afternoon.

2023 WORLD CUP OF POOL | PHILIPPINES STAVE OFF CHINESE TAIPEI FIGHTBACK
The Philippines staved off an almighty comeback from Chinese Taipei to reach the semi-finals of the 2023 World Cup of Pool at Pazo de Feiras e Congresos de Lugo, Spain in partnership with The Asociación Gallega de Billar Pool (AGP), Xunta de Galicia and EIDF Solar to reach the quarter-finals live on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland, DAZN in Spain, the USA, Italy, and Brazil, Viaplay in Scandinavia, the Baltics and Poland and broadcasters worldwide.
MATCH SCHEDULE
The Pinoys led by Johann Chua and James Aranas continued a memorable week that has seen them beat defending champions Spain A before knocking out Spain B to reach the quarter-finals by putting on a clinic against the Ko brothers, Pin Yi and Ping Chung. Two quick break and runs in succession bought an early buffer for the Filipinos and that momentum continued.
At 4-0 down, the Ko's got their opportunity at the table only to be brutally hooked with the two tucked up at the opposite end of the table to the cue ball.
Pin Yi kicked well out of the hook only to see the two ball in prime territory for Aranas to come through and clear up and extend the Philippine's advantage from 4-0 t0 five nil in good time. With the races extended to nine for the quarters and semis, Chinese Taipei knew they had some window of opportunity with winner breaks also in action but it was going to be hard to come by with a six rack swing needed to even get level after seven racks. A rare missed pot on the five from Aranas allowed Chinese Taipei for the first time in the contest and they made their opposition pay for 6-1.
At 7-1 down, a brief safety exchange ensued with Chinese Taipei getting in for that deficit to be cut to five. An untimely dry break from the Ko's in the following rack put the three-time champions in for their chance to reach the hill and they duly obliged.
In the 11th rack with the Philippines on the hill at 8-2, Chua was left hooked on the break letting Chinese Taipei have a sniff of what was to be a remarkable comeback.
Pin Yi and Ping Chung hadn't done much wrong to be on the end of the scoreline at the time and it showed when they finally had the break to keep cutting the lead from 8-2 to soon level pegging at 8-8, it wasn't the Philippines had many chances in that time to close it out either, Pin Yi and Ping Chung were simply playing their best Nineball.
With the break in their favour, Chinese Taipei broke with Pin Yi and they were hooked from the break. Ping Chung went for the cut only to see his effort narrowly wide of the mark which allowed the Pinoys to step up and deliver the fatal blow for victory, something they could have only dreamed of doing have witnessed an almighty comeback from Chinese Taipei in one of the best matches in World Cup of Pool history.

2023 WORLD CUP OF POOL | GREAT BRITAIN THROUGH AS USA CRASH OUT
Great Britain beat Vietnam in a hill hill finish to roll into the quarter-finals of the 2023 World Cup of Pool at Pazo de Feiras e Congresos de Lugo, Spain in partnership with The Asociación Gallega de Billar Pool (AGP), Xunta de Galicia and EIDF Solar to reach the quarter-finals live on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland, DAZN in Spain, the USA, Italy, and Brazil, Viaplay in Scandinavia, the Baltics and Poland and broadcasters worldwide.
MATCH SCHEDULE
GB led by two-time Mosconi Cup MVP Jayson Shaw and rising star Elliott Sanderson with the pair winning the opening two racks over Duong Quoc Hoang and Nguyen Anh Tuan. In the third, a safety battle ensued before Shaw left the four hanging in the pocket after going airborne to allow Vietnam in for 2-1 and then to level up at two apiece.
At 2-2, a dry reak from the Vietnamese brought GB to the table but they failed to make it pay as Anh Tuan played the better of the pair to bring his country ahead for the first time for 3-2. The contest toed and froed to 4-4 before Vietnam broke away to reach the hill first at 6-4 after a costly scratch from Sanderson, a moment that was unfortunate given how well the youngster had played up until that point.
In the 11th, Shaw laid a brutal safety which forced Vietnam to foul, the British side capitalised to cut the deficit to one. They then made lightwork of the resulting rack to go hill hill and have momentum fully in their favour. Shaw and Sanderson fell at the first hurdle last year with a drubbing but this year would be different as they showed nerves of steel to run out from a tricky lie on the four and set up a quarter-final berth with two-time champions Austria next.

2023 WORLD CUP OF POOL | PHILIPPINES POWER PAST SPAIN FOR SECOND TIME
The Philippines got the better of Spain's other side at the 2023 World Cup of Pool at Pazo de Feiras e Congresos de Lugo, Spain in partnership with The Asociación Gallega de Billar Pool (AGP), Xunta de Galicia and EIDF Solar to reach the quarter-finals live on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland, DAZN in Spain, the USA, Italy, and Brazil, Viaplay in Scandinavia, the Baltics and Poland and broadcasters worldwide.
MATCH SCHEDULE
Not content with knocking out defending champions Spain A (Francisco Sanchez Ruiz and David Alcaide) on the opening day, James Aranas and Johann Chua knocked out the other Spanish hopes in Jose Alberto Delgado and Jonas Souto to reach the quarter-finals at a canter 7-2.
Quickly, the Pinoys found themselves three racks to the good with Spain given very little room for error. Spain got a rack back to be 3-1 down but Chua delivered a fatal blow in the following rack going airborne to make the 4-1 and then Aranas put the finishes touches for 5-1.
At 5-1, Souto was at the table and fluked the nine when going for the four to cut the deficit but that was as good as it got for the Spaniards in front of a buoyant home support. The Filipinos completed the job with a golden break from Aranas to see them into the quarter-finals where Chinese Taipei await next.
