Hi Guys,
I haven't been around for a while, so sorry if I'm going over old ground, but who of you out there has tried the vantage? I'd be interested on your thoughts on how it feels and performs.
Big Dave: Have you had much up-take on this shaft?
Cheers

We've sold a fair few in The Pro Shop - had no complaints - they look as good as anything predator make - but the 314 and Z shafts are still more popular than the Vantage if that helps.
Anyone else got some feedback on how they play?

Personally i think they play very good. Produces a much firmer hit and i found that it was easier to get a lot more spin on the cue ball with little effort. Having tried the 314-3 however after using the Vantage, i settled for the 314-3.

I tired to make the switch to the Z2 and couldn't adapt. If you love the 314-2 that much i'd suggest either sticking with it or moving to the 314-3.

Thanks Dazza.
I've been using a Z2 for over 5 years now and I love it, super accurate, amazingly low deflection and a nice hit. Looking at the pictures on the pro shop, the taper on the Vantage looks similar to the Z2 but thicker of course. I wondered if it would behave in a similar way but perhaps with a bit more forgiveness with the bigger tip? And maybe a bit more meat on the power draw shots? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Yes i'd agree with that Tull but i only have very limited experience with the Z2 to compare. Personally i would say if you're used to the Z shafts, stick with them, likewise if you like the 314 shaft stick with them and perhaps try a Vantage first before buying.
I sold my Vantage to a mate of mine who played with a 314-2 and he couldn't get on with it so moved onto the 314-3. Everyone seems to have their own opinions and likenesses to each shaft tbh.

Z - shafts and 314 - shafts are totaly different. Different taper, tip size, stiffness. Dont get me wrong these are awsome low deflection shaft and play really good but cant swap between as both require different tehnique and skills. Tried Z2 in past few months and I give up. My hand preffer something softer. For me 314/2 is more repeateble than Z2 probably because I couldnt control it good enough. Well, I think Z2 is designed for robots which are repeatable in every shot [ This message was edited by: sinnerro on 2016-02-17 19:27 ]

Good observations guys. Dazza, what differences have you noticed going from314-2 to 314-3? As all three shafts are constructed in essentially the same way, I imagine any differences you've seen should translate to differences between Z2 and Z3.
Cheers

The differences i have found and some people may agree or disagree are High speed shots are more accurate You get the desired spin you require with less effort Feels Stiffer You get a firmer hit
Hope this helps
