Hi,
Just wondering if any of you have bought and used any of this chalk yet and if so what are your views??
I used mine for the first time on Friday night along with my new Kamui Black SS Tip and i thought it was fantastic!!
I was using it as frequent as i used my old Master Chalk, but after a couple of hours started to experiment a little with it and only chalked up once per rack.
I found out that was all i needed to do and even went 50 shots without chalking once and it was still gripping getting maximum spin as if i'd just chalked up!!!
I as i'm sure everyone will say it is very expensive i agree but i honestly cannot fault it on performance.
If i had to pick one fault is that the coverage on the phenolic tip was poor so i do still use Master Chalk when breaking off.
All in all a very good buy in my opinion.

Yes it is expensive but very good I agree, don't buy it if you don't want to carry on re-buying it after you've used it!

You lot do realise version 1.21 is to be used after pretty much every shot, don't ya?
The original Kamui 0.98 is the stuff to use once every rack or two. That stuff will cover a phenolic tip like make-up.

Well i beg to differ my 1.21 lasts ages before having to re-chalk and i used it every other rack only the other night.
Maybe it was because i have a Kamui tip also??
The coverage on a phenolic tip was poor so maybe i will buy some 0.98 just for breaking off.

Everyone said that when Moori Tips started selling for high prices too, but look at us all using expensive layered tips now!

I agree Dave there are a lot of people out there afraid of change and then when they finally take the plunge and try it out they find out it they play better or prefer the new tip, chalk etc. All i was wondering when i started this thread was if anyone else had tried this and there views. I took the plunge, purchased some and thought it was fantastic. There must be a reason that the previous 0.98 sold out so quickly worldwide and i'm sure in this economy low we have been going through for the past few years that there are not enough pool geeks out there with enough money to throw £22 on 1 cube of chalk if it's a gimmick!! Everyone has there comfort zone but i'm a strong believer in trying new equipment/routines etc to improve my game. [ This message was edited by: -Dazza- on 2012-04-23 16:14 ]

The coverage on a phenolic tip was poor so maybe i will buy some 0.98 just for breaking off. Kamui received a lot of complaints about 0.98 because players (American, obviously) felt chalking every couple of racks or so was bad for their pre shot routine, so Kamui developed 1.21, which is to be used more frequently, like a regular chalk. I haven't tried 1.21 yet, but have some 0.98. It's good, but I've tired of the novelty value and have gone back to Blue Diamond, which is MUCH better than Masters.

0.98 was trading for $80 a cube when the first batch ran out.

I quite like how someone is selling a block on eBay for £29.99 with the following description. !!! QUOTE !!! For sale is a used peice of KAMUI Chalk. The chalk has hardly been used and has only small grooves accross the top.
If your looking for this chalk the you already know what your buying and what its worth.
Currently this is the only peice of Kamui chalk that is available in the UK. [ This message was edited by: MartinBullet on 2012-04-23 19:55 ]
