Just an update really.....

Tournement on 15th July in Ipswich

Runners so far:

1. Craig Osborne & Courtney Symons
2. Imran Majid & Raj Hundal
3. Phil Morgan & Richard Twoomey
4. Aidrian & Paul
5. Jamie White & Tom Emes

32 teams required

Really Interested in starting to fill this field with more runners, Even if your interested please let us know in this thread,
Also if your put off - please let us know why as we can make changes for the future. As always we simply want to arrange tournements that appeal to the players so all the help / comments we get will help..

Thanks in advance folks

Ossie :-D

lol - thats the idea tho, It presents a great opportunity for players to team up and feel a different kind of pressure.
We also thought the idea of Jim and Raj teaming up would get more people interested - not turn them away.... Be good to test yourselves against the Mosconi partnership!! lol

Sounds like a good event but too much work to do on my new house so I'm lying low from tournamants until the next BPPPA at the end of month.

Good luck with it.

I think it will be tough action trying to get 16 teams for this never mind 32!!!

I feel you have several problems here.....

1, do players want to travel when they cant actually rely on there own game (might be partener making mistakes)

2, are lower ranked players gonna want to travel when they will be up against teams like Peach/Appleton or Majid/Hundal etc etc

3, Its in the corner of the country with no motorways for miles.

4, it stinks down that part of England.

5, Ossie will be there with his trainers on
But seriously, the first 3 points are ligit....and i feel they will effect the event big time.
Ifeel that its a sort of format where unless the prize money is great you will always have players moaning.

just my thoughts.

.....and dont forget that the Northwest 8ball event is on the day before too....which will stop a lot of the finer northern players making the trip!

Well I think Mr Peach is a legend at pool and he has no hair just like me! :D but please get behind this event Daryl, I totally understand where you are coming from but its not often we try to put an event on in Ipswich, alot of players came to the BPPPA event in Colchester just 15 mins down our biggest motorway the A12 :) and loads will go to Cambridge Mickey Flynns, the format makes a change from just 9 ball, its a one off event and we really need the big boys of the game supporting this. Lets face it lots of people will turn up and try to take on a big star like you week in week out, now is the chance to take on DOUBLE TROUBLE! :D

ps.....£1100 first prize????? surely thats worth making the trip for? only 32 pairs so not many matches to win your money back! :D:D:D

And I for one would be happy to pay the money to play you and who knows even beat you;)! and besides I owe Raj an arm wrestle, it was Stirling the last time we did that and I would have beaten him if it was not for the fact I had a match to play! :D

Dont get me wrong mate.....its a great idea!

I am commited to playing in the northwest open the day before so it would be impossible for me to come down.

maybe next time ;-)

yes pain in back of a drive i did the trip twice a week for 12months ..

i like the idea of the tourny though

higher entry would have been good and might have got me interested ,plus think it requires better planning like am sure sept 1/2nd was free weekend !

but i wish you all the best lads pals!!

cool - this is the sort of feedback we need, positive or negative - so thanks to everyone for pitching in so far.

If if it is the date thats the issue then we may be able to shift the dates?

However i think we may just go ahead with this tourne regardless of the numbers - people do decide they want to play on the day?

we will give it a go anyhow, This is a kind of "slurp it and see" event really.

Jonesy - Any of the Cambridge lads fancy it?? weve been supporting your tour for years now :)

let us know folks - keep the feedback coming please....

I'll come to the next one if the date's good and I can fool someone into partnering me. I know how much travelling people have done to support events in the north so I intend to do all I can to support the events down south.

I've been to all of the Mickey Flynns events except when I've been at the Euro tour and brought others with me (Nick Wollerton, Boyzi, Widlo) and these have been great though I must admit I was a little disappointed that not one of the regulars from Mickeys played in or even expressed the slightest bit of intertest in attending the event we put on in Barnsley.

We're really lucky at the moment because there's well run tournaments springing up virtually every weekend around the UK and I want to go to them all when I've got settled in my new house :)
