8 - 4 Souquet
Darren, it may be off topic but did I read somewhere that you use an Elkmaster tip? If so how do you find them for American Pool and what sort of problems can I expect with using them with the heavier balls?

Its a crushed elk he was using when i last asked him, they are good tips bite the ball well. The heavier balls are not a problem at all. -----------------

I've given the Tiger Everest a good trial run now and while I think they have a nice solid feel I'm not sure they're for me and I want the familiarity of an Elkmaster back as I think its the biggest spinning tip I've personally used so far. Pressing the tip presumably hardens it and decreases the likelyhood of it losing its shape but how does it effect its performance?

If they are fitted right then i think they perform great but like any elkmaster out of a box of 50 i would throw around 20 away as being no good. The layered tips offer more consistency tip to tip. But if you get a good crushed elk well fitted then i think they are hard to beat. I currently use Kamui black soft as they last a long time are consistent, hold their shape with no touching up and dont mushroom. My tip is not yet half worn and been on for just over a year. They also grip the ball well and are great for masse shots. ----------------- [ This message was edited by: PC on 2010-10-10 21:50 ]

No, I'm going to let Paul Morgan fit an Elkmaster for me at Blackpool in November. Until then I'll just keep plugging away with the Everest as I have bigger things to worry about than Pool at the moment unfortunately!

Raj throws in the towel before the final ball is sunk for a 10-4 win for Souquet. Raj and Ralf pay tribute to the organisers in interviews after the final. A familiar "podium" line-up for the finalists in Bosnia. Well done all... You did us proud again![ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2010-10-11 21:06 ]

You've got to say well done to Ralph. From what I saw he was getting no more rolls than the rest of them; he just was more clynical in the balls. He gives every shot 100%, particularly positional wise.
