I'm toying with the idea of phasing out the player profiles (which are a lot of work to design and tend to become out of date almost immediately) and replacing them with blogs - just like the ones above.

The benefits would be that you could update and modify your blog as and when you felt like it, even blog daily if you liked, you would have total control, or you just use it as a business card for your contact details for potential sponsors etc.

The best blogs could gain featured status at the top of Pro9 as a reward to the people who create the more interesting blogs.

I'm really hoping this would be a popular option, as you would be able to add your own photos at the drop of a hat, include your favourite YouTube videos and include a little of your own personality with your choice of theme, fonts and colours etc!

Creating a blog at Blogger.com is free and all you would need to do is make sure the size (width) you choose looks ok on the space available at Pro9 like the others here, and just send me the link?

I would appreciate some feedback on this, pros and cons... So what do you think?

Great idea Dave. You could also feature some of the grassroots / new comers / choppers / washed up old pro players as well as the superstars.

I'm sure there's some funny players out there. So even if they are not the champ they are entertaining. And lets be honest that's 90% of us!!

good idea mate, however there is a lot of profiles so mabye you an idea could be add one blog each week to the forum to share with the players...see whats going on in the the players pool worlds...obviously those who are cool with that and would update it......otheriwse how many people will look at other players blogs... just a thought...
