Yeah, nothing else would do but Tina Turner's "Simply The Best" for such a fantastic result!
(Queen's "We Are The Champions" was a close runner-up too!)

The lastest offering from the Pro tube is very interesting, I have the utmost respect for EVERYONE who takes part in the GB9. As someone who is new to the game and looking to use the tour experience to improve;this year has been immense. Where else as a distinctly average club player, could I mix with the elite in a sport that i'm learning? Its superb watching the "big guns" and watching the way they duck or run out etc.
Regardless of ability my entry money is as valuable as anyone elses and being referred to as a chopper or a banger is slightly discrespectful, even if I do agree with you!
I'll be told that Mr Walsh's comments were supposed to be taken in jest and in jest they are taken. No one can ridicule me better that I can do it myself!
But, please be aware that us "Choppers" are contributing to your payouts!
Maybe I could swap some media training for some pool lessons? lol
On the flip side, it was nice to read a class act like Darren Appleton giving his best wishes to all of us fighting to keep our place.
I'm building a club that will be open in April 09 down in Cornwall and playing regularily, i hope, will help my game.
Dynamite, if you fancy a few weekend breaks all expenses paid to try and transform me from a chopper when its open, let me know what it'll cost me.
Rant over, and for the record I would have mentioned this whoever made the comment. I've seen David Walsh play and at times was shaking my head at some of the stuff he can do with the white ball, absolute quality.
I can keep fingers crossed to be able to play like that one day, but for the minute; respect me and fellow "choppers" for being on tour and doing the miles etc. Even If we are no good! lol
Travelling several hundred miles in the hope to win one or two games on the Friday and remain on tour next year requires a lot of commitment. Despite not being a world beater, I will be gutted if I dont get the chance to "chop" again next season.
See you all in Mansfield.

wasp your sentiments are spot on us so called choppers money is as good as anyones and do make up a considerable amount of the prize funds but i suspect those comments were said in jest attempted humour by someone who can;t handle his drink aswell as others . why get worked up by it . laugh it off i intend to and carry on enjoying your pool i,m the king of the choppers and not too bad a drinker either

I originally posted this about a Tina Turner video that Dave put up for Daryl's WPC win, not sure why TheWasp chose this thread to post in though

I completely agree with thewasp's sentiments on this, unfortunately there are a number of players on the tour who show little respect for the lower ranked players. This tour exists because of the 128 players+ that supported it - perhaps Mr Walsh & co should remember that without the bottom 64 there wouldn't be a top 64. Thanks. Awwww, don't take it to heart, it was a pretty boozy evening and the lads were relaxing with a pint or three and I thought it was just a fun interview with the guys... We all generalise a bit after a few pints! Anyway, even the best do a bit of chopping from time to time! [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2008-09-06 20:20 ]

must admit this is a bit tough too call, Andy i fully agree with your comments, (and thought'should be given to those "sponsoring), (by way of attending!), also would say that big d should be cautous as to what is published. i agree it could look offensively for others. that said, i agree with the fact that a few people had been drinking and nothing was meant more than harmless banter, and if we critisiciesd all that play and organise tournys for us, we'd all be left with nought! so i say this, more drinking less girly stuff, any one with issues should challenge me or one of my nominated representatives to a babycham drinking contest. all the best Big T. Ps. i take odds on the babycham!!!
