Sorry Oz, only just saw this... Cyprus has a nice new club in the "Greek" South and the Northern "Turkish" side makes a good international tournament every year... The bonus is the club is in Paphos so you can get some expert diving done at the same time - I've done the diving, not many fish, but lovely clear blue sea. This may be the reason Cypriots are beginning to make an impact on the European stage lately, so if you go there be sure to make contact before you go, as my experience is that they will all be clamouring to play you. Let me dig out my links... Here's the tournament (which is in Turkish "North Cyprus")... http://www.pro9.co.uk/html/article.php?sid=1403It's worth going along to that as Serge Das has been feeding off this event for a couple of years as the only international of note (along with Pascal Budo) and it's due a change. You can find "Pro-Billiards Paphos" on FaceBook or email them here... professional_billiards (at) hotmail.com -------------------------------------------------------------- Madeira has a thriving pool scene and some serious players at the Yacht club, and despite some local geological calamity, I think they had some mud slides, the club is still going strong. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Malta: I've only heard of Snooker in Malta, and I think you would have to be very lucky to find a decent game of pool there. Nice diving schools there if you want to learn though! ------------------------------------------------------------------- Canaries: I know they have English pool there, but I have no knowledge of the US style game. Windsurfing is good! ------------------------------------------------------------------- Kos: I'm not sure if the club is still going, but there was a nice and active club on the Greek island in Kos, and they held nice tournies there too, as per this article, which includes the club address... http://www.pro9.co.uk/html/article.php?sid=1342 ------------------------------------------------------------------- Spain: I'm sure you can get action all over the South - Marbella etc! ------------------------------------------------------------------- Finally, ALWAYS check to make sure the club is still active because pool clubs do sometimes fail or disappear. ----------------- Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2011-04-08 08:32 ]

Hi Dave, thanks for that, awesome reply!
Just going somewhere for a week in April as last minute deal and thought it would be good to go to somewhere with a pool hall! :p
Is the Cyrpus event on this year, any links or dates do you know?
Cheers

The Cyprus event has happened every year so far yes, good chance. You can check here... Contact: Levent Nevzat E-Mail: leventerboy@yahoo.co.ukPhone: 0090 533 868 4103 Fax: 0090 392 229 1008 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I've just seen that they've got a local tournament in the Balearic Islands (Mallorca etc)... Here's the link to that one... http://wwww.poolbalear.com Ooops, just realised you'd have to land tomorrow morning to get into that one, but it does show they have a thriving pool scene. Actually, Cyprus is looking pretty good now as I've just heard of another Southern Cyprus pool club promoting itself a fair bit (always a good sign) and it's in the capital, Nicosia. PRESTIGE BILLIARDS CAFE 8B KENEDY AVENUE NO.12 1087 NICOSIA www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=219981869257 [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2011-04-09 13:11 ]

Links for the club in Kos: http://www.pigal.gr/http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=129675503719692Knowing the owner who is a player himself I can tell you that the quality of the venue is as good as it gets. There are 4 american pool tables in tournament condition and carom billiards tables available. Oh, and Kos is great for holidays. --------------------------------------------------- If you fancy combining a beach holiday and a city break there's a good open tournament (1st prize 2500euros) held at the end of April (28April to 1May) in Thessaloniki. Best city in Greece by far and only 1h drive from some of the most beautiful beaches in Greece (Chalkidiki) http://billiardscenter.gr/http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=173027289413871Anyone looking for more information about this tournament send me a PM.

If you wish to call Fuengirola on the Cost del Sol a beach resort, then go to Club Blliares; its on Avenida Jesus Santos Rien. You wil get action there. David Alcaide and Sammy Kadur are regulars and you might catch Pacito Diaz if he is not touring in the States.
Enjoy yourself.

Further to the above, I must mention Club Seis in the suburbs of Malaga. Its decor, arcitecural deseign and Bunswick Gold Crown Tables make it one of the best clubs I have ever seen. The owner Raphael Guzman is also a good player and a very nice bloke. There is a ver pretty girl who plays there and will beat the 80% of the guys she plays. If you dont believe that is possible, just as The Dog.
