Anyone watching this final?
Phil Taylor just thrown a SECOND 9 darter in the same match! Unbeleiveable... Was on for a 3rd but missed the treble 17 on the 8th dart!

Yes Stephen Fry was in the box for a while..did OK, but you cant beat Sid...when Taylor missed the 3rd 9 darter he said "he is as sick as a chip in the Mccain factory"

Absolute sporting legend. Wade was excellent but Taylor raises the bar YET AGAIN!

That's harsh Bruno. I was fortunate enough to meet and play him in an exhibition about 15 years ago. This was before he reached his "peak" and he started a couple of 1001 legs with 4 consecutive 180's and finished most legs on bull. Class.

I did once play a doubles match with Keith Deller and Eric Bristow, when they visited Aberdeen a few years ago. I was Bristow's partner for a one leg match and I finished on double 4....got 20 quid for my efforts! ----------------- Every man dies, not every man truly lives...

I've actually practised with Phil on couple of occasions when I played the darts circuit. Safe to say that nobody can touch the man and in ractise he is a nightmare, hitting a 13 dart leg is rubbish to him, and sometimes 12 darters he'll say rubbish to.
His dedication is unrivalled to anybody else in the sport. And he's going against the rule that says you are meant to get weaker as you get older, he keeps peaking and peaking taking darts to this level that is unbelievable. It's going to take either a superhuman effort to beat Taylor in a long distance match, or a superhuman effort from Taylor to lose the match. The fact that his 'C' game average is 100, his 'B' game average around 106 and his A game at the heights we've seen at 110+ nobody has a chance. Especially when they're happy to get 100+ average once in a blue moon.
Taylor owes his life to Eric Bristow for teaching him what he had to do. I had hoped that Michael Van Gerwen would be the next big thing but he's gone too many steps back.
The question now is - when will there be 3 9 darters in the same match?

I think 3 9 darters will be his next target, then 4 etc. He keeps setting targets which makes him get better and better. Shame about him losing his MBE but deserves to be a knight as he is by far the greatest sportsman we have ever produced

Phil Taylor is kinda like Darts' own Willie Mosconi, except with a much more relaxed and easy going personality and attitude to fans and the sport Willie
