Big Dave has kindly suggested that I post on here to try to get some more sponsorship for my half-marathon on Sunday in Reading, so here goes... I'm taking part in the Reading Half Marathon on Sunday 21st March to raise money for Cancer Research UK and would really welcome your support. Please take a moment to sponsor me. It's really easy - you can donate online by credit or debit card at the following address: http://www.runningsponsorme.org/mikerogers147 All donations are secure and sent electronically to Cancer Research UK. And if you are a UK taxpayer, Justgiving will add an automatic 28% bonus to your donation at no cost to you. Cheers, Mike I'm trying to beat 2hours for the 13.1 miles which could be tough, but am giving it my best shot. Just finished my last training run which makes 140miles total training... two days rest before the big day now!

Lee Tucker is running for a Cancer Charity in memory of his Mum... If you see him/know him or can contact him and can afford something I'm sure it'll be appreciated, as Lee has never run before in his life!

How did it go Mike? Did you get some sponsors from Pro9? I've seen some photos of you running with your Charity Run number on it... Any chance pal?

It was a hard run but I enjoyed it and finished in a time of 2hours11mins... some pics & video here: http://email-sweatshop.co.uk/1Y3-418G-143MMJ-28PZP-1/c.aspxI found out early on that my watch & footpod wasn't setup right though, so all my training was over-estimating the distance I was running by 10%!! By the time I got to the 1st mile flag my watch said 1.1 miles & by the finish it showed 14.4 instead of 13.1 miles! So breaking 2hours for the half-marathon was never realistic after all. At least I beat one of my workmates who had run 2h12 for his 1st half-marathon though I did get some sponsorship from a few pro9ers so many thanks to Shir, Jonathan Mathers & Matt Ford... much appreciated And it's not too late for anyone else if you would like to sponsor me... http://www.runningsponsorme.org/mikerogers147 is still live until June 21st cheers, Mike [ This message was edited by: Mikey_Freedom on 2010-03-23 17:23 ]
