i'm about to enter a world of leather and big helmets and get a motorbike.
Does anyone on here have advice about carrying their cues while riding a bike?

This is something that is raised in America all the time. Two issues here, it needs to be light and also needs to be durable (at least withstand a minor crash). The soft Laperti style cases certainly fit the 'light' part of the criteria but the case wouldn't offer a great deal of protection if you came off. The Buffalo cases again are light and certainly more durable. Personally, I would opt for an envelope style case which are also light but made with the same leather as the normal Porper style cases so offer more protection. Wear it with a tight strap across your chest and there you go. This is what most bikers do in the US. The examples here are made by Dennis Swift in the US. He does non-personalised ones also.

Thanks Si.
At the minute i've got a 5x3 hard leather case like most of us. I figured that the case would be fine if i went flying but it would hurt like crazy if i landed on it!

How about a George & Mildred inspired side car! That would do the trick. I can't see any problems as long as you leave the Mildred at home.

There is a market here for someone to do something clever with the d3o material if they can get a licence from the company to use it or if they can convince that company to produce the product. http://www.d3olab.com/You may have seen this material used in the iband case for the iphone, but it is also used in protective clothing i believe its currently used in some of the motogp race suits (not 100% sure) ----------------- [ This message was edited by: PC on 2010-02-21 16:59 ]

Being a biker myself i didn't really think about coming off so didn't think of the consequences of having a hard case on my back. Definatly an untapped market. Ads

A friend of mine makes some stuff from carbon fibre. If anyone interested in spending a little more cash on something fancy and unique - you'll get both a light and strong case.
