Send your snow photos to editor@pro9.co.uk This is Andy and Ann's back garden near Fleet! I'm having a "Snow-B-Q" tonight to celebrate as we never actually real snow in Portsmouth as it's so far South and it's actually an island and the surrounding sea keeps us a fair bit warmer in the winter than the people "UP ON THE HILL" as we call you lot! SNOW-B-Q INSTRUCTIONSJust in case you fancy having one too... Hot Toddies - Hot Whisky mixed with lemonade (or water) and fruity spices. Glühwein - Hot german red wine mulled with spices Saki - Hot rice wine You get the idea, any hot booze will do! Then light a barbecue (so you can play with fire) and cook tiny pieces of meat on skewers so they cook quick and you don't freeze - eat and get merry! I just wanted to say, my home-made Gluhwein was a major success!!! Big Dave's Home-Made Glühwein Recipe:1 bottle of nice red wine. 1 orange - sliced. 1 lemon - sliced. 1 large cinnamon stick. 1 small ginger root. 2 tablespoons of sugar. 6 cloves. Warm all of this in a pot for one hour making sure it doesn't boil... Then add a quarter of a bottle of brandy, strain and garnish with one of the orange slices (which will be purple!) Try it... You won't be disappointed! (Caution: Hot alcohol is absorbed very quickly into the body). [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2010-01-08 09:56 ]
