Not sure Dave, but it is similar to an old game you used to find in some UK clubs/Pubs, I think there were two versions!
One was Bagatelle and the other Bar Billiards, I think!!!!!!

dave it is dutch and is golf-billiards, but i would hate to guess what you were googling to fin that one, balls in holes etc with little sticks !!
