It'll be a hard fight, but i feel Hatton might grind out the win. [ This message was edited by: craig on 2009-05-02 23:55 ]

I hope so, I'll always cheer for Ricky being a Manc myself, but I think this could be harder than Mayweather. But this time he's much more prepared and has a better style.
Looking forward to see this Tony Jeffries in action, I missed his last fight!

Very disappointing outcome! hats off to the 'pacman' though, pure class. Hope Ricky's gonna be alright, he's still a legend.

Ricky walked into Manny's right hooks and was floored twice in the 1st round and was knocked out by a huge left hand from the southpaw. It looked bad at one point for Ricky but thankfully he managed to walk out of the arena and hopefully he will be ok, has to be retirement from the ring imo. Unfortunately he just can't cut it with the best pound for pound fighters in the world.

I saw it... Ricky looked seriously ill for a few minutes after the fight, looked like permanent damage. Fortunately he got up in the end and walked off, with no energy to do an interview.
I really hope he retires. He is somebody I'm so proud of as a Mancunian, but unfortunately his fighting style still hasn't changed and I don't think he is capable of changing. Very one dimensional.
Pacqiou was pure class. Not only was he super fast which we all expected, he was actually stronger than Ricky which was a real surprise.
Pacqiou almost finished it in the first round knocking Ricky down. Ricky managed to hang on and then in the second round as everyone was thinking he may have pulled it away from being a one sided battle, he took a VERY strong left hook to the chin which sent him out cold before he even hit the deck.

pacman was awseome with freddie roach obviously doing an amazing job in the training camp. The final left hook was amazing from ocman but devastating for Hatton. i havnt seen anyone floored like that recently. lets hope he is ok, next 48 hrs always important. time for retirement though.

brutal fight, in the whole run up Ricky may have been talking his chances up but he must have known what he was coming up against was akin to his last outing in Vegas... it was the tactics that suprised me more than anything, coming straight on to southpaw with such fast hands, as Pacquiao said, it was a lot easier than he thought it would be.
Is a big shame for Ricky, as he has put himself on the line against 2 of the best fighters of our generation and been showed up to be way off the elite level, am glad he is alright, but serious questions need to be answered, and just not sure he can come back from this brutal destruction.

I had a terrible feeling that it could of gone that way (although wasn't really expecting it!). Ricky unfortunately fought the wrong fight and as Danny said he finds it extremely hard to change his pressing fighting style. I cannot wait for Mayweather v Pacman, for me the most anticipated fight in decades. Buckster.........absolutely knackered!

Buckster.........absolutely knackered! Not only the wrong style but Mayweather Snr didnt actually do him any good. All they did in training was flashy pad work which didnt mean jack and had no tactics apart from to rough him up such as what he did to Kosta Tszyu. Mayweather losing to Pacman? You having a laugh Mayweather has fought comfortably at Junior Middleweight and won world titles against a decent De La Hoya not weight drained one. If that fight materializes but seems unlikely because Mayweather dislikes Bob Arum I see Floyd winning on points or a stoppage. Just my 2p.

must be said ricky looked horrible last night, he had no sideward movement, just walking straight in and onto everything pac was throwing, the warning signs were there from the first bell, ricky was trying to bully and get on top of pac but to get close he was eating all the shots that were coming his way. i reckon it would be a great fight with pac and mayweather altho i reckon mayweather is far too slick and has too good a defence for pac, he'd pick him off all night long and be similar to the hatton mayweather fight with either a late stoppage of a wide ud!
