Just heard an interview with Steve Davis where he says that a lot of club owners have said the smoking ban has hit them hard.
But that got me thinking, would it be legal to open a smoking club? That is, only members are allowed in and they sign some declaration that they accept people smoking in the building.
Then, if the smoking club wants to put some snooker / pool tables in, they can.

No because luckily the proposed amendment to the smoking ban for members only clubs was not instituted.

Thankfully it's now against the law for smokers to pass on their second hand poison to the employees of those clubs or to force non-smoking cue sports enthusiasts to accept that passive smoking goes with the territory if you weant to play the sport. Nice to see common sense prevail and those times are now behind us.

Oh, I'm enjoying the smoking ban and think it's great that I can play in a club and not come out stinking, I was just wondering if this was a possible loophole.
I mean, surely you must be allowed to start a smoking club? Then you must be allowed to get a license to serve alcohol there? Then you must be allowed to stick a pool / snooker table in it?

i believe you falter at the first hurdle there, you wouldn't be allowed to start a smokers club as your not allowed to smoke in a place of work.
I do know that there was a man who opened up some kind of Bar in his house, where he allowed smokers to smoke, because there was nobody officially working there or something like that, but when you start putting in pool tables ect i think it'd be hard to say that it wasn't a job
