im surpsised to find a thread revolving around cue maintenance censored. ! ?
For the record i am aware of both Andy's and Paul"s work which both for a service provided in the uk are equally acceptable, if not more so.
I own 20k's worth of cue here in the UK and would not be confident in sending them anywhere other than the uk due to customs issues with ivory - for an example.
Whilst a little banter between prices would always be considered the norm.... why is this post blocked?
To have two people in the uk who are adept in their skill is nothing more than a result for UK Pool. And in reality, both only have the right equipment for certain jobs!
I'm intersted in thoughts from BDK as to why this post was blocked?

Oh dear. Hi Tony, As I prefer to be called Big Dave instead of "Big Brother" I'd better explain my actions here. Firstly, I have only the utmost respect for all all four of the American style cue smith's that I know of in the UK, they have all done me favours in the past and in return I have passed contacts on to them all too, some resulting in business. Throughout last year they were all offered advertising on Pro9 on several occasions, and just before Christmas Andy Nicholson very generously took the plunge and sponsored the Pro9 website with some of his advertising spend. The beginnings of a banner you will have already seen in the other forum thread of the same name, and a linking article will be forthcoming, (just like the Rico Diks coaching banner) when I have a few more photos. When I saw someone asking about cue smith's in the forums I thought I'd better respond quickly as I already had my advertiser's cash in my pocket. All web masters and forum moderators are amused by the games that people play trying to get a bit of free advertising in the forums - the best one was only last week when someone opened a new account pretending to be a novice asking for advice about a cue available on eBay - it was actually his own cue for sale! Hilarious!!! Anyway, I'm sure you can see the awkward position this places me in... I can't take advertising money from one person, and then let all others advertise in the forums for free, so with this in mind, and fearing that the other thread was beginning to descend into a pointless "who can post the last message competition" rather than adding anything meaningful I decided to give them both a last good word and lock the thread. I never mean to offend, and I only hope I've made a fair decision? ----------------- Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2009-01-07 11:21 ]
