Anyone out there know where a young junior player can improve his game and get the best info around. im a member of the Irish american 8 and 9ball tour. im 17years old and know lots of players and i always get advice and info from them. i am always willing to develop my game. usually after a game of snooker, we then play 9ball and all of a sudden it feels easy but thats because the snooker is harder and then u convert to 9ball for a few frames/hours and u play like a god, lol any help appreciated cheers Dean Largey [ This message was edited by: dlargey on 2008-11-03 15:15 ]

I am 16 and use to play a lot of uk 8 ball and snooker, it didn't seem to affect my performance at 9ball but once i had my uk pool cue stolen a few weeks ago i stuck to 9ball, i have noticed a vast improvement in my play over the few weeks and i notice i am alot more consistant. I assume it is because i have stopped playing uk 8ball and snooker.

cheers anyway 9ball dog but when im playing 9ball i do like to use a 9ball cue all do sum players still like to play with their UK 8BALL cue such as tony drago who plays with a modified snooker cue except just a bigger tip. i feel 9ball is a better game than UK 8BALL and you can be more consistant in it Dean Largey

Its ok mate, and yeah i agree you can be more consistant at 9ball, i dont get why people say 9ball is an easy game though, even unexperienced players say it lol, it gets me annoyed

Personaly I think 9ball is 1 of the hardest games going. Its definatly harder than 8Ball (which I have played for over 20years) In 8ball you try to leave yourself options. 9Ball you can only play the lowest number ball so there is only 1 option each time and posisson needs to be very good with angles. the tackticle game is harder in 9Ball cos there aint much that is not pottable and your oponant can jump over a ball in the way. the list goes on. Both very good games the big plus for 8Ball is its more accesable than 9Ball you can walk into just about any pub and have a game of pool . pubs dont seem to have a lot of room for a 9ft table lol [ This message was edited by: Snapool on 2008-11-04 12:57 ]

yes your right, when playing 9ball there is only 1 particular ball you can hit on your shot where as on UK 8ball you have a variation, alot more skill is required to play 9ball and if you make 1 mistake against a good player it could well be game over.

Practice, practice and practice.
Anyone can pot balls, concentrate on getting your position right. Stick to one discipline until you're really good.
