With only 2 days to go till the start of the World Snooker Champs i'm sure I'm not the only one who is looking forward to it. So who do you all think will win and will there be any major upsets. I think Mark Allen will beat Stephen Hendry.

I walk past the crucible everyday on my way to work and go to the pub next door to it at lunchtimes so it sickens me that I was too lazy to think about organising some tickets when they went on sale months ago :(

couldnt take allen over hendry but reckon Perry to beat Dott is guaranteed and Swail to beat Lee is tasty priced.

Maguire or Selby to win it. :D

Totally agree, It's all about Ronnie. If his head is in the right place he is still easily the best.

Also fancy a first round win for Jamie Cope, and a possible upset with Marco Fu against Ding.

I think you're spot on Destroyer, Maguire and Selby are favourite to meet in the semis, personally i'd like to see Selby win because basically he has good crack, but i just have a feeling Maguire will win! Although I think Ding will turn it on this year and perform!

My prediction is a Ding/Maguire final, with Ding to win

It's a shame that the top 3 players of the moment (Murphy, Selby and Maguire) are in the same half of the draw. If the real Ronnie turns up then he should get to the Final and there either Maguire, Murphy or Selby will be awaiting, but will the real Ronnie turn up. Another match that i hope will be good is Higgins v Stevens. Personally being a Davis fan for almost 25 yearsI want him to at least beat Bingham and then it's either Dott or Perry. I really can't wait.

This year for sport is great. Ryder Cup, Euro Champs (even without England), Olympics and all the other annual events (Wimbledon, The Open Golf etc etc, and of course now that i'm in love with this game Mosconi, Masters, World Cup and World Pool Champs still to come).

Can't see Ding getting past Fu let alone Ronnie. Not had the best year this year.

Dave any chance of putting a comp on here wih a small prize from the Pro Shop (towel or chalk holder etc.) for people to predict the finalists and winning score. Also how about a survey for winner too. Just a thought.

I'll contribute to the prize.

You are right pooljedi, that was a blatant atempt to try and promote a sport which really has no future LOL. It's such a poor sport that nobody ever makes a living from it and the sponsors who are they.
