What a fantastic achievement and an incredible effort Phil. You have single handedly raised more with one effort than GB9 raised in total since the first PMT was held in 2009. As I said on Facebook you are amazing and the tour is very proud to have people like you. [ This message was edited by: Riggers on 2011-05-26 23:18 ]

Fantastic stuff Phil, I've so much respect for what you've done and I'm sure Macmillan will be overjoyed with the funds that you've raised. It's a charity that's very close to my heart so I'll sign off by echoing Inside English's comment.....Respect!! Top Man!! [ This message was edited by: stox on 2011-05-27 00:45 ]

Thanks guys......Very kind words and I could not have finished it without all of you supporting me. I cannot sleep, as I said on FB, my last track I played before finishing my row was INSOMNIA (I cant get no sleep) go figure! hmmm. I have to be honest and say I hit a wall at 26,000 metres but I started to think about it more mentally then physically and tuned out the pain and kept driving for the line, my bum cheeks were so sore (No dont get excited Dixon) after the first stint at 1 hour 40 minutes, I had never rowed more then 1 hour 15 minutes before so that was a tough one but I knew I had to bite into the 30,000 metres with my first stint and managing 20,300 metres meant I was able to take just a 3 minute break to stretch out and then carry on. I wont lie I dont want to do that again!! But something tells me I will find something stupid to do soon....I'm gonna take up knitting!! the last 9,700 metres were the devils playground.....It seemed to take forever even though it was only 50 minutes (ok more like 45 as I sped up towards the end). The key to finishing this was sticking to the right pace throughout and although I did quicken for the last part I knew I had to do that as I could feel myself slowing below the correct pace, I think it was do or die time.....and after 26,000 metres I certainly wasn't going to quit! So now I am wide a wake.....Cup of tea nailed, might as well go for a marathon run to wake myself properly......see you in 2 hours 3 minutes (might as well go for a world record lol) Thanks again for all your support - Long live the memory of Paul Medati!! Top work Phil I can't believe you were awake at 5am! Just out of curiosity what Speed did you cruise at and what resistance was the rower set on?

Congratulations Phil. You've inspired me to do a very tough and demanding 24 hour pool match, after your heroic efforts on the Rower. Not as tough physically but I bet mentally would be just as tough. Got to work out a format and a date and will be raising funds for Macmillan, and for the Acorns Hospice in Birmingham. Cheers for inspiring me, and congratulations on raising a grand single handed. If there's still time to donate, let me know and I'll ship over a few quid to the cause

Aimed for 2.30 for every 500 metres, kept that going for just over an hour then sped it up a little, in the second stint.....ANYTHING lol....ended up roughly 2.25 Resistance 5 mate

Hi Phil, if you could PM me or tell me your experiences of them that would be very helpful. I've tried to get on this morning to donate and it keeps saying "server too busy". I'll keep trying and if it doesnt work, Ill get some bank details off you and transfer some money over that way, as a last resort!
