I'd love to see Higgins win it again.
Anyone know any live streams I can tap into? It's not on TV anywhere in Oz =(

Watching Steve Davis and at the moment I think i'd fancy my chances. I don't see why he misses so much, People say its age, but I cant believe that his age contributes to the amount of misses and the margins he is missing by. Its as if he's about 10% the player he was and i would say his age contributes to about a 10-15% drop in ability or precision.
So far I haven't seen any players who will be contesting the final. Robertson played well enough but against Murphy, Selby or Maguire he needs to play better. Swail did well against an out of form Lee and it was a good comeback from Ebdon. But the top players are still to come. The 100s will start to rack up with the Top players playing over the next few days.

Ebdon got through a toughie v Cope last night. Great match. He could now be a threat. Cope is some player. Future World champ for sure, when he's in the balls he's frightening. Allen will see off Hendry today I think. Time for Hendry to consider retirement, his long game has totally gone. I'd love him to prove me wrong but I can't see it. For how much longer can he say his practice form is as good as ever?! He's getting like Jimmy. I fancy Higgins, Ebdon, Selby and maybe Fu to do well this year. Can't bet against the Rocket either, depends if he's got his head on. Maguire wouldn't be a bad bet either but I don't think his game suits these longer matches. Here's hoping the Pillbury Doughboy Smug Smurph get's knocked out first round. That's my only wish. As always. [ This message was edited by: thecure-figurehead on 2008-04-21 11:36 ]

Nice to see someone else show a similar disliking to Murphy as me. Ever since he beat Davis in the QF the year he won it i've disliked him. He's very smug and stays down on a shot for ages. I have to admit he's a great player, but i just don't like him. As for Bingham, zzzzzzzz. No charisma etc. I can see Ronnie doing well and like you would like to see Hendry lose although i think he'll comeback today against allen. As for Lee saying he wants to retire that's just ridiculous. Maybe if he gave up kebabs he'd be able to play better. For me the finalists will be Higgins or Ronnie from Top Half with Ding Junhui being my possible other and bottom half will be Murphy or Maguire with Selby being possible other. ----------------- Multiple winner of the Solihull Wednesday knockout competition.

Come on Ronnie!
Although I wouldn't mind Higgins or Macguire winning it provided they bring the trophy to my local hall! (like Higgins did last year).
I don't want Murphy to just get beaten, I want him humiliated! Same goes for Dott and Plebdon. Boring boring boring!

Yes, I agree 100% with the comments here about Murphy staying down on his shot way after the pot. Bleedin' arrogant. If I ever saw him live i'd be tempted to run up to the table and drag him off the smug git. Rivalled only by banging the table and screaming after you've just potted matchball. He even had a massive falling out with his father (and coach) and the two don't speak anymore. You gotta question what sort of man he is when even his own father gives him a wide birth...alot of top players can't stand him either so he's obviously got a reputation on the circuit. Whilst we're on players we can't stand how about Bingham. He seems to have this smirk on his face as if he just wet his pants. And i'm not just saying that cos he's beating my hero and idol Steve Davis, but I just don't like him.
I do like Ebdon's personality and the way he shouts and screams, as it's nice to see a player wear his heart on his sleeve. However, since he started to slow down and take forever on each shot he's also become boring.
In fact i would love a bit more emotion from players. Thats why Williams, Ronnie, and the late Hunter were crowd pleasers cos they show emotion.
I miss the way snooker used to be with the characters. There's now too many robots in the game and i'll be interested to see how the other Chinese players play given that Ding and Fu play with little emotion.
As for Murphy, well thats cheered me up to know few players like him. I know that's not nice, but you get what you deserve for the way you are and he does seem to be very arrogant. The worst thing for snooker was him winning the World. Stupid Stevens for missing a Blue playing it Left handed at about 16-15 down!!!!

Well what a spirited fight back, but alas all in vein. Steve Davis will have to put up with John Parrott now for the next 2 weeks. Great to see Steve put up a fight though and so glimpses of good form. Lets hope he takes it into 2008/09 season.

When was the last time you saw Plebdon screaming and showing emotion? I haven't seen that since the early 90's! That's when he was entertaining. Now he's boring.
Bring back Hann!

Just started to watch Murphy's match against Harold and looks like he has come straight from the come dancing set! Take a look at the matching waistcoat and sparkly dress suit trousers!! Maybe he will follow Dennis and Willies footsteps and be on the next series
