Just tried to log onto the other site and this is what greeted me!

This Username Has Been Banned or Suspended from using uk8ball.com.

So do i win the prize for quickest ban ever!!!! LOL.

I have to post this. This is a very slanderous and frankly disgusting post by the Professor (of what - stupidity!!!!) who obviously does not have any idea about what it took to put the GB9 tour together. I am absolutely disgusted that this guy is allowed to administrate a pool site with views and comments like this.

Now i know that Riggers is mature enough to rise above this but this has angered me. Not sure what the best course of action would be, but will not sit back and do nothing.

I had to delete the cookies for the website but am still able to read the posts.

Aha... so you guys are beginning to get the picture. So what on earth can you do when someone slanders you like that in a public forum?

I do think that something should be done as it's very hypocritical that he bans people for swearing and certain view when he does the same himself. As an administrator you have to uphold the rules as well as abide by them.

Yeh, that last comment from Prof is very different from anything he's said about me before and he's also trying to bring the tour into disrepute too, which I cannot tolerate given all the hard work people have put into it. I've taken a copy of the page (and thankfully others have quoted him here) and I'll be taking legal advice with a view to seeking damages for defamation of character.

I don't know why nobody has taken him to task like this before. Maybe they don't have the will or the knowledge or the resources. Thankfully I have all 3

Well you have the backing of everybody on here. I'm gonna investigate who his internet host is and try and get them to do something. Don't want to get the site shut down as it'll be unfair on all the users, but they may fine him for breach of certain rules etc.

So, I've just spent a wee while trying to word a non-expletive rant at Professor Eejit that should be guaranteed to get me barred. I'll post it below so you can all read it once he's deleted it and barred me.

So, people want to talk about POOL that isn't UK 8-Ball and you don't want them to know about it? In fact, not only do you not want them to know about it, you also start to loose some folk off personally and in a derogatory and, to my untrained eye, libellous manner. Even the original poster wondered what was causing the offence!

Are you that isolated in your little UK 8-Ball world that you feel the urge to put the American disciplines down? If so, then you are officially, a hypocrite. If you follow this link to one of the threads in the Riley’s section of this site you will find everyone’s favourite (?) Professor on 17 April 2008 at 10:54 saying (and this is a direct copy and paste from that thread) “Given a choice of cue sport, I would "choose" to play 9 ball but you don’t see them in pubs so that's out.” Hypocrisy? I’d say so.

I am in no doubt that I am going to be barred for this post, then slagged off afterwards so I cannot respond to the Professor’s vitriol since I am (1) not a UK 8-Ball player, (2) backing up people who were barred from these forums and (3) pointing out that you, Professor Pool, are wrong. So, in closing, let me say this directly to you Professor. It is people like you (actually, in my opinion, it IS you!) that cause more harm than good in all forms of pool in the UK with your “us versus them” attitude.

Just my thoughts.

There we are. Without swearing, I have pretty much guaranteed that I am going to be banned from the UK8Ball s(h)ite

I think that it slurps that people are barred for passing on information that has been requested.

Although a couple of the other members here have probably already done so, I've also PM'd the guy who asked the inital question giving him a link to this site so he can find out more about what we're up to on the big tables in the UK. Hopefully, he'll be joining us fairly soon.

Now, let's see how long it takes before I get barred and have something libellous said about me by someone I've never met!

His reply has way over stepped the mark this time. As the post is so long i've put the link below. I was thinking of leaving it alone but as I am sure you'll agree the torrent of un warranted and unfair abuse directed Riggers way is over stepping the mark by a mile. And I am sure when the majority of users come on here after work or during the day they will all feel the same. The man is vermin in my opinion. And his comment about thecardman being on drugs is ridiculous.

This has got way out of hand, but he has gone too far for it to be ignored by me at least. And I will now not lower myself to his level as it just seems to be what he wants and what he is looking for.
