The 45th All Japan Championship starts in earnest tomorrow - last year there was live streaming for the early risers among us, I'll keep my eye open for the same this year. Good luck to everyone who's going - Pro9 article is already "prepped" and ready to rock tomorrow! In the mean-time, here's the draw for the 4 groups of 32 players... Just to let everyone know, I am not playing in the Japan tournament. Don't know why my name is in the draw. I only asked Gre Lenders if I was legible to play but didn't confirm my participation. Mistake I guess.

It appears that there are a few walk-overs in the opening round as the only English players there are Darren and ... Two players who definitely ARE there - Francisco Bustamante and Ralf Souquet, and they are playing each other on the live stream in a few minutes! I'm wondering if the pdf brackets haven't been updated because it's the weekend, but the live scoring has been working at least.
Unfortunately Daz was eliminated today after a nail-biting hill-hill match that apparently descended into farce as his opponent was about to snooker himself with only a few final balls remaining on the table, when the cue ball was deflected by the new racking template they were using, leaving his opponent with an undeserved look at the object ball, and he ran out!
Unlucky Daz.
