just saw on az billiards that there are 40 spots available for the world 10 ball in Manilla. This I believe are for players under the EPBF! Does anyone know anything about qualifying and stuff like that?

I remember that the qualifying criteria for various World tournaments was posted up next to the draw in Italy earlier this year. I think Gre might of sent out an email aswell, will try and find it for you

I imagine that the qualified players have been notified, since I know that Alcaide has received his notification. As I see it one of the problems with this tournament is the fact that it is only a few weeks away from the WPC 9 Ball which is also possibly going to be in Manila. Players without wealthy sponsors are going to find it difficult to travel to both. Add to that the fact that there are serious problems in the Philippines between the BSCP and the BMPAP who have stated that they intend to boycott the 10 ball. There is also an ongoing Senate Hearing regarding the affairs of the organisers and that is apart from the libel action against them brought by Alex Pagulayan. I know looking at the link above it states that the EPBF will hold a WC 9 Ball and WC 10 ball qualifier and all it says is 'after tour event in Weert'.
Does this mean these qualifiers will be held in the Weert venue or merely that the qualifiers will be arranged 'after' Weert.
Just if they are taking place in Weert as soon as the Euro Tour is finished then I would book extra accommodation and different flights to take in these qualifiers as well..

Just spoke to Gre on the phone and the 10 ball qualifier is at the end of this month at some other location, can't remember the name, think it's in Holland though The 9 ball qualifier which was scheduled to be played immediately after the next Euro tour event is not planned yet due to the confusion of whether there will even be a 9 ball world championships this year or not.

yes i have heard its 50/50 if the 9ball will go ahead ..which to me would be a massive blow to pool and matchroom as everyone thinks its the most established pool event of the year ,would be sick if didnt go ahead.

Gre sent me thru the flyer for the 10 Ball qualifier, unfortunately it's this coming weekend so doubt there will be many attending from the UK since it clashes with the GB9 tour.
It's in Germany.

Quite funny how at the bottom of that article it says you need to apply for a VISA at least 6 weeks before arrival yet the qualifier is being held this weekend. Maybe the winners get a shot of a time machine to go back a few weeks to apply for their VISA
