This event is full, only a couple of tour players have pulled out (already replaced by reserves) and demand for reserve places is very high. So.... if you are a GB9 tour player and cannot make it to the event PLEASE tell me now so we can keep the event full.

Hi Lee, why are the draw not going to get published a couple of days before? I thought this a great feature of the GB9BT and I am a little dissapointed you are stopping doing it :-(

lol, i think the times of everybody's first matches will be published but the draw wont be shown until you get to the club. The reason for this is because if the draw is put up and somebody drops out after that, certain players will get byes because it would be unfair on that player if a reserve came in.

Say for instance you were playing somebody that you thought you could confortably beat (not that there are many) and they pulled out after you had seen the draw. You got to the club to find out Tommy Donolan had filled his place i'm sure you wouldn't be best pleased.

Yes but we all know that that is a possibility, as long as reserves are drawn randonly into free positions in the draw nobody could feel hard done by. Personally I still think it is nice to see draw in advance so you can discuss with your mates before/on route to the event.

Well as usual we've had some players pull out very late. All but one of the spots have been filled so we currently have 1 challenge division place available. Reserve list players are being contacted but it's difficult to get hold of them so if anyone is interested in the spot costing £90 for the weekend please call me on 07961 444430.

I liked having the draw put up beforehand but this seems to be a decent solution as it sorts out the problems with players dropping out.

Maybe next season there will be fewer drop outs?

I don't follow, the draw wouldn't have been done yet anyway?

Yes but last time we delayed the draw until 3 days before and still had several players pull out after that! Personally I think it has to be much more interesting to wait and see who you've got when you get there. Adds to the excitement if you ask me!

Thanks Al. Now back to Business... Who wants those 2 challenge division spots? I reckon this is going to be the best event so far so would be a shame not to fill them.
