Ok let me try this again - having posted a similiar post on an 8 ball forum caused much furor. Didnt know the animosity between 8 and 9 ball players was that crazy around here Thanks to some nice people that pointed me to this site. I have just moved to the UK and am looking to start playing some serious 9 ball again. Just starting to get my practicing hours in as I havnt played in a few years, but I'd definitely be up for looking at some tournaments or other competitions that might be running in south london. Or even just a bunch of good players that meet up regularly to begin with. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome. You'll find it much more civilised here Aside from the action in your local area you might also keep an eye on this site (check out the Calendar link near the top) and look out for the many tournaments that crop up around the country at weekends, many of which are just an hour or 2 by car or train for you, or if you hook up with some people on this site you might even be able to share transport. Also, come along to the GB 9 ball tour in Wealdstone on at the end of May. Whilst you cannot play on the tour you can watch some great players in action and you can also enter the flyer on the Sunday afternoon at 1pm.
