Hello all, This is just a quick note to say that you may want to think about booking your accommodation for the Scarborough event soon as they are likely to be booked up quickly. I was up there this weekend and visited some of the hotels who said they were already getting booked up for July and August.
I would suggest that you contact some of the bigger hotels and ask about a discount for large bookings and mention the Tour and amount of players possibly going.
One word of warning before you book and that is the Grand Hotel. It's prices are very good (£60 for Double, Bed, Breakfast and Evening Meal). However, please check out review websites as they have had many problems in the past. I have to be careful with what I say as I do not wish to be accused of slander, but they have had the BBC in a few years ago and have had viral problems in the hotel. Also, it is advised that you use the handwash provided when you go in and out very similar to a hospital which is not appealing. Also they have had food poisoning outbreaks too.
I would suggest the following hotels:
Large Hotels (some with Leisure facilities): Crown Spa Ambassador Mansion House Hotel The Royal Hotel Beiderbeckes Hotel
There are also many smaller B&Bs all within 5 mins of the club.
I personally am staying at the best place in Scarborough which is my future in-laws. Free accomm, free food and alcohol. Loverly Jubberly.

Went to Riley's, Scarborough over the weekend and the place looks excellent. It is, essentially, your typical new-style Riley's. In the pool area, there are 16 American tables, 5 8-Ball tables and one snooker table (the rest of the snooker tables are upstairs). The American tables are in 3 areas - one that can be seen from the bar and seating area with the other 2 being down a few steps from the bar area. There is a small lift allowing wheelchair players access to these tables. The staff are very friendly - the female staff that were on duty are definate "eye candy". The one problem I see with this venue is the lack of seating for players and spectators in and around the bar area - there's only seating for around 30 people. Other than that one problem, the club is very nice and I'm sure you'll have a great time there.
