Thanks for the alert Nico, I've upgraded this to an article, and added the dates to The Pro Calendar.

There is no current website for this event. But there will be qualifying events in the week preceding the main event. The prize money for 2008 is now double the 2007 level.

Last year around 50 players competed for 10 spots at a local club in Fujairah. Many of them were Middle East based Filipinos. But first out of the box was Darren Appleton. Seven Filipinos came through including Jovan Bustamante who went on to reach the semi finals. This year will follow a similar format which will again atttract players from Kuwait, Saudi, UAE, Oman, Egypt and hopefully Europe. At $200 for a minimum of five shots that is a good deal.

Well MM it would be nice to see you there. Wow! All the way from Abu Dhabi. You can borrow my Predator P2 - it has a pedigree, which might help you. One third of your age more likely (I can get away with that type of insult as I am older than you). Spoke to Pat and the little Devil is off to Oz for a family holiday when the tournament is on. Follow the Yellow Brick Road, Silky.

Only a 2.5/3 hour drive from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah depending on traffic so no big deal. Far less than your travel anyway. I suppose that how deep they go on the rankings for straight-in invites will determine how many Uk lads like Daz etc would need to travel for the UAE based qualifying week?
Book your flights early, lot of reasonable deals usually available if booked and paid during Jan/Feb.

I'm sure you've all received the email from Gre about the mistake in the original schedule for this event, but just in case, the events STARTS on Sunday 24 Feb, and if over 48 runners it will continue until the Monday 25 Feb - this may affect your return flights if you are booking for the EuroTour and also intending to play in the qualifier! I have updated the article, and The Pro Calendar with the new details. [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2008-01-16 15:02 ]
