Just read the front page on AZ about a new Pool Tour called the NACPBA.

It sounds a bit iffy to be honest :)

There is a long thread about it here:

http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=81715

Your thoughts? After the IPT, I cannot see it happening in the sport.

Have you seen that the small print actually says the players have to commit to doing 80 hours a year of community work???

There's also a very stringent drug testing policy.

players should be willing to work for that amount of money BUT only if its garentted and i cant see any garentee there at all!!!!

by a quick glance it looks like they wat the player to do alot more work

whihc sounds harse but with the state that pool is in at the moment is the best way to go

if the pro pool players pulled toghter it would work im sure

Sounds very interesting, be good to see how it develops. The guy running it seems to have learned alot from the IPT. Hope it works.

Thank you for posting the link, Chris :)

Upon listening to the interview, I still can't help, but wonder if the propsed new tour is going to be able to achieve the goals that they have mentioned, but at the same time, I would like to see something good happen, but with the level of sercrecy of the investors, etc and with alot of info not yet confirmed, etc, then I can't help but wonder if it is gonna be another IPT scenario.

I like the idea of a completely open tour to both men and women players, as well as 4 different disciplines, one of them being Straight Pool, (Which looooooong overdue) but no matter how one looks at it, it's still very much a case of wait till Feb for their "Official" announcement and go from there :)

What do you guys think? :)

Willie
