I've always said it's easier than the other cue sports that i've played. I find it easier to play than english 8 ball, that's for sure but that's my opinion. I know there's other aspects to the game which are not easy to learn but i very rarely see them in play in amateur tournments. Ex snooker and english 8 ball pool players are doing really well at american pool because they honed their skills on tighter pockets. ----------------- Regards

I'm sorry, I've deleted a couple of posts from this topic now as it looked like it might descend from an informed debate into something less constructive. I was in two minds about posting the video. It had some dynamite personality from Raj, combined with a rare insight into one player's opinion about the tapped rack. At the same time there were some unfair comments made by Raj that I wouldn't normally entertain publishing, but it would be impossible to edit those bits out without making the interview completely nonsensical, therefore I made the decision to run with it, in it's entirety, and trust that people are quite capable of making their own decision about the integrity of the comments! Let's please keep the discussion constructive! ----------------- Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2008-06-10 09:56 ]

Ofcourse its sour grapes noone has mentioned the fact that Imran was 6-0 down in the recent final against Raj.Thats a massive hill to climb alternate break. No disrespect to Rajs game but if your 6-0 up and your oponent wins alternate break you must have done something very wrong. He doesnt do anything better than Imran in my opinion and in most peoples opinion except blow his trumpet. Imran has always dominated in England together with Daryl and they are a class above everyone else in the UK theyre results prove it. Thanks for your latter comments OB1....and i have to agree with you on that one! .....but i didnt know Raj was 6-0 down in the final!! having watched the interview, it makes sense why Raj was really upset..... ----------------- [ This message was edited by: dazzler on 2008-06-10 12:50 ]

just watched that interview sorry but i think he's out of order with some of things he says
like "winning this tournament means nothing to me" why is he on the tour then??
dont get me wrong the biggest acheivement ive had is beating mark mills in a race to 9
but alot sounds like sour grapes to me
in his own words "imran has been giving the chance to cut break"
fair play to imran i say

Sorry guys....i meant 6-0 up! In my eyes, the cut break, even on tapped tables requires skill, and even now, there are a few "top" players who cant play the cut break well and consistant......its just that its nowhere near as hard or take as long to perfect as a solid consistant hard break....this takes years to develope! Hope that makes sense!!! lol Daryl. -----------------

Great thread!
Agree with most of it but I rate the Euro Tour much harder than most. Like the US Open its a 256 man field, both do have a lot of average players in it that just play for the crack. The main difference is the US Open attracts a much more global field and the break and tables play much much harder.
However the field isn't seeded and there have been some surprise winners over the years. I think the very fact that the EuroTour tables play too easy makes it so hard. Players like Mika etc have struggled on EuroTour yet they do very well in the US etc.
I think Imran has acheived much more than Raj but no idea who would win a money match.
