Give it a rest. This was Chris Billings tournament and he's very capable of deciding when / whether to discipline players. Just what does it have to do with you Powerbreak?

Or is this the double bluff? Powerbreak has come out with so many daft statements lately could he be darkside in disguise? just sent to wind us all up a bit? Or maybe I'm paranoid again?

poolio.you hit the nail smack on the head. its an outrage, not only to us lesser mortals but to pool in general. getting to a quarter final then getting bored needs addressing.
We deserve to hear from the player, perhaps a statement from him.
Who feels this is needed?

I actually played against Esprit in the first knockout round.
He was definitely the better player and deserved to win. So there are no sour grapes.
However, he was disrespectful to me, was a show off who wanted everyone to notice him, and was also extremely condescending with regards to my game.
I ignored his regular chatter throughout the game until after the result (which was 6-1 incidentally, not 6-0 as published, because he deliberately missed the 9ball in rack 6 because, i quote "i'll let you have one as i want one more. I need to practise my breakoff") was certain.
My personal opinion is that he should be sectioned for his own well being. I know nothing about the guy other than he obviously has issues and needs to see a professional for his own good. I feel sorry for the dude to be honest, but he also has plenty of talent on the table and needn't act the way he does.
Encouraging him doesn't do anyone any favours, least of all the "good" name of pool.

Thanks for agreeing. He seems like a well-liked bloke, I don't know him personally and I am sure he may be a decent chap off the table. However you are right when you say it is an outrage to pool in general. I saw him displaying similar antics on the main UK tour. This is meant to be a professional, slick competition and having players show such a disrespect for opponents and the game isn't good for the image of pool in this country. People wonder why the game of pool is stagnant in this country but a good start would be to ensure professionalism in terms of attitude and good sportsmanship. This means bad sportsmanship shouldn't go unpunished. ----------------- Conceive, Believe, Achieve!

Luke I was playing several tables away from you when you played him and I could consistently hear his boasting and general ranting throughout. If it was anything like his normal table behaviour I am surprised that nobody has kicked up a fuss and that he hasn't been told to 'hush'when he is playing. There is no doubt he is a talented player but my immediate reaction to his mouth is that he uses it to make up a lack of REAL confidence in his game and ability. His results and record suggests as much as he is not in the cream of the crop of UK players on achievements. Instead of verbal abuse he should knuckle down, be professional and improve his game and develop real faith in himself. As I say, he is talented, there is no doubt my only issue is bad sportsmanship and disrespect for the game as I feel it looks bad on the sport in general. ----------------- Conceive, Believe, Achieve!

Or even "Darkside pool" or "Darkside 9 ball"... 2) Poolio even mentioned it was Gareth Espirit who retired, so there wasn't even any need to google it...where did darkside even come into it, apart from MAX mentioning "DS"? Only in other threads, but why bring that here? 3) Only a clown would mention Darkside and talk about Darkside that much if you didn't know who he was or aren't him. 4) You're a clown. 5) You're still a clown.

Just to add to Darkside's / powerbreak's latest fun and games. I played him in the very first group match and he didn't miss a ball or get out of position. And it was quick, I said 'well done' and had a little chat as you do. Then like a true attention seeker he said, 'Oh man, I'm not playing good at the moment.' I laughed and said 'Now you're being insulting!' And he went on..'No really I've lost my last 10 matches....they include matches in Vegas and China and the eurotour.....' (which makes it even stranger that he quit when he could of very possibly of won the comp!??) There's no doubt he is a character, it's what the game should have. He strikes me as a wealthy playboy type who needs a constant buzz and drama around him. He would make an interesting case study. I hope he sees the light.I think I've helped Darkside believe he can win again!!!
