i heard the draw got done thursday andy .. and i dont know any players that were there friday.to see the draw done

your words were bar staff did the draw with you.

i was there friday night and didnt know the draw had been done until later that evening but i was told nobody can see the draw until saturday.

my 10ball masters got messed up and hold my hands up and i admitted my miistakes..orignally 2 players were getting seeded who got to final previous year but some pros were under impression because we paid more enty fee they got seeded also, so in the end i seeded 8 players AND THE DRAW was made in the club while all the players were there.so dont know where u got that from lol.

every tournament i ever run the draw was done live and in front of players to witness it.

like i said it was a good event you held. but left a shadow over it because of the draw shambles and yes the players were upset rightly so.

but you get on with it like we did.

we all make mistakes andy takes a bigger man to admit them and you have so fair play.

problem you had with the draw is how it come out and none of the players got to see it.

so fireworks started..

but its in the past like you said lesson learnt

look forward to future events as you do a great job of these things and i really appreciate what you doing

dyno

Think its time to stop the tic for tat its starting to get like a kids playground and is starting to over shadow a great event lessons have been learnt so don`t spoil it.!!!!..onwards and upwards for a even better event next time thats what i say... to much and to many players taking digs at each other, time you show respect for your fellow pool players regardless of there ability..good luck to all future events ,,,

lol you guys amaze me my post read LESSON LEARNT
And for the record lots of the players were told the draw would be done friday in the club, There were plenty of people present at the draw, And yes the game was brought into disrepute along with my integrety by a few players, Who then continued to go round the club moaning and back stabbing me at every oppertunity, So i do have the right to defend myself which i have asking for a re-draw was rediculous, It was done fair and above board, I can remember playing in your 10ball master event darren and lee did the draw at home also the pros were seeded, Not one of us amateurs were even told the draw had been done or there were to be players seeded we just got announced to the tables so how my event can get questioned is beyond me, All i can say in the future my events will have a live draw the time of the draw will be announced then any player can assist us or watch the draw live. ps roll on the next event ive got something very special in the pipeline.

That's absolutely not true. Andy made that claim to me the other day and I told him then it wasn't true but he still posts it on here. Just to clarify all events I ever ran at Barnsley have been drawn in the club on the morning of the event after all players have registered - NEVER at home before.

THis is all very silly. It was a very good event, there were some lessons to learn about the draw and getting the rules published and am sure they will be but the event itself was top draw and we were thrilled to win it. Lets not spoil it.

Whatever the rules, draw or whatever there will always be someone that is unhappy, it goes with the territory.

From my point of view it would have been a great spectacle if the draw was done live, however, I understand why it was done in advance in order to speed up the days play, bear in mind the first session on the TV table took 5 hours 45 minutes.

The main point I will make is that at least tournaments, competitions and opportunities to play at a decent standard are available, players need to rally behind organisers and support all of these events otherwise they will just fizzle away.

We need to protect the integrity of the game as well, coming onto a public forum and mouthing off as some people have done will never encourage sponsors to come forward and support the events.

I agree. Arfan spoke privately on behalf of the players but was then villified in public on this forum from what I can see.

who really cares about the draw, it was done before the tournament and that should be that......andy now admits it was a mistake and he will learn from that, i can understand why players would be upset and yeah rightly so we paid alot of entry money, but for some players aparrently to question his honesty is well below the belt!!!!

why so many players are afraid of a hard draw is beyond me, do you all want stevie wonders to get to the final?

well from what ive read people are harping on too long over this its done its over let it go Andy admitted he learned from it and as far as i'm aware Andy runs great tournaments and no doubt someone will moan over some thing at the next one, just forget about it Andy puts a lot of hard work into the club and to his tournaments so maybe instead of complaining all the time what about a pat on the back for Andy for all his effort guys come on show the guy some appreciation

Geo123, if you read this thread back a lot of people have given praise for what was a very good tournament. I even called it the most enjoyable event I ever played in and complimented the club, tables and the organisation of the event - something I still stand by.

I the comments have been mostly very fair and balanced though it would have been good if some of them had not been brought to this forum.

However, if Andy chooses to come on here and make remarks in public that we don't agree with he can expect them to be challenged on here.
