@ dynamitedaz "shame uk dont recognize our achievements" I agree 100%! The media are happy to write about football idiots burning £50 notes in nightclubs but won't give exceptional talent and consistency a nod.

The main problem is that the general public just think that American Pool is for people that can't play Snooker. It's completely wrong of course and the sad thing is that events like the Mosconi Cup create way more excitement than the Snooker events! I think American Pool as a brand needs to be pushed and not just 9-Ball. As soon as people see what some of the top guys can do other than just break/run a rack of 9-Ball they'll have a lot more respect for the discipline. Hopefully Mosconi Cup 20 will deliver the best historical players possible, as well as the best current. If it's presented right and we get some raw interview footage with Earl and maybe a camera following him around for a day, it could be fun! How about a 10 on 10 team format this year too? Fingers crossed!

The World Games is still going in Cali, but I still can't see much coverage about it over here? I guess it DID clash with the Anniversary Games here, but that's finished now??? Whilst our players will always be contending for titles and we'll have a strong national tour I don't see anything changing in the perception of AP within the UK. Trying to make AP as big as snooker over here is like trying to make American Football bigger than Football - it's never going to happen.

As a recreational player who most likely will never win a big championship or make a living playing the game, I know that AP will never be as big as Snooker in the UK but what would make me happy would be for the players and the game to get the respect that it deserves. I know so many idiot Snooker players that rarely get a 50 break who bash AP and think that they're superstars! If they put their ego aside and exposed themselves to 9-Ball they'd understand the draw. Having pressure on every shot regardless of who the opponent is guarantees an exciting game, something that Snooker isn't for the most part and probably never will be unless the rules are adjusted.

The World Games Closing Ceremony... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVHaiDg-LO8...Darren's back-flip made it into the final cut and features at about 42 second into the video, but it's definitely worth watching the whole thing! Enjoy! [ This message was edited by: Administrator on 2013-08-07 09:30 ]
