If I beat someone I want it to be because I played well and took my chances or they played poorly, not because I managed to cheat a few times and get away with it.

i think dazzler needs to be mentioned here,i once saw him play kev uzell in holland ...he pulled of the biggest miss u can imagine. and carried on under kevs protests, talk about sharking .jaws comes to mind here. kevin was furious about it. so really all the senior players are at it,i say its part and parcel of the game. only my thoughts. Negative nonsense, I thought everyone had moved on from that. Clearly there is a village missing an idiot! [ This message was edited by: expertfluke on 2008-07-18 18:12 ]

i could name at least 5 players in england that shark
u just gotta concentrate on your own game and be focused on players breaking dry
cant believe some players miss so many dry breaks........ it would be the first thing i would be looking at when there breaking
instead of postings views about the break/cheating whatever, better to talk to lee or send him a letter cause when it comes down to it, doesn't give the tour a good name in my eyes posting on this forum and probably constantly moaning. It would put players off from competing on the gb9ball tour
4 outta 4 events is some going and to be honest imran is the best at the cut break from what i have seen this past while......
u cant knock the man...... hes a good player and more approachable than most......
hes done the business so people should deal with it

Just my views on all this:-
I think that the 3 point rule is fine but if at the end of the season Lee/Shir and the GB9 Comittee decide to change the rule for next season then i will support there decision 100%. After all this is OUR tour and what an excellent one it is!!
I believe that BOTH players should keep an eye out for the dry break not just the breaker or the opponent.
I don't believe that Imran realised it was a dry break nor did Scott, don't forget both players were under immense pressure especially Scott after being pegged back from 10-5 down. I know Scott very well from my home club and his concentration is immense during matches but this one has just slipped through his fingers!
All i can say is that everyone watches the break more carefully from now on and owns up if you know you have not scored 3 points even if your opponent does not realise.
The rules have been set by the everyone at GB9 and these should be adhered to at ALL times. I don't believe in 2 players coming to an AGREEMENT before the match that they should ignore the 3 point rule for that particular match.
Last year i played Carl Morris at Stretford in a BPPPA tournament and we were both hitting the break as hard as we could but failed to score 3 points. Carl called over Ted to explain as he said that they were the rules so carry on, and we acknowleded that.
The tour in my eyes can only get bigger and stronger from now on but needs support from ALL tour members.
Roll On Manchester!!!!!!!!!!

Well done Imran great response! I agree totally. I genuinely missed a couple of my "alleged" dry breaks that were called on me as my back was turned in picking up my break cue. I say alleged because I only had my opponents word for it! The fact is, it is a newish rule and I haven't got used to counting the balls flying around the headstring yet, hitting the tittys etc and going back down table (even with my hardest attempt) Unless the rule is changed we will all eventually get used to it. I certainly won't be relying on my opponent to call "dry" when my back is turned, anymore! JMO. Also just like to say I appreciate all the hard work put into running this tour, by everyone involved! I did have a text conversation with imran after my posts jumpshot,i told him he got some fair points with some stuff he was saying...no big deal also i encouraged him to post himself if he was upset which he as and fair play to him everyone entitled to defend themselves ... but lets get one thing straight here ,Me Personally havent named call anybody a cheat or not admit dry breaks on these threads, but i said it before on other thread and ill say it again i know some players that have cheated and not admitted to dry breaks and other things.. but later admitted to me or other people they did, and this also happened in scarborough 2 or 3 times... to me i find that discusting....i dont care about sharking and gamesmanship and banter doesnt bother me one bit as i have experienced much worse in philippines and states playing big money games than i ever would in uk/europe, infact it probably helps me when opponents do that stuff ,maybe thats why i play better away from uk...but cheating and dishonesty when playing goes over the line far as am concerned but ill say it again the rack with imran and scott to me it looks a blatent dry break more so because the speed imran plays his first shot, and the fact only one ball gets past centre table.. but thats down to imran and nobody can prove wether he knew or not but with alot at stake questions are going to be asked and were and his answered them in his opinion ,so far as am concerned the subject closed... was unfortuanate for butch on this accasion but at the same time it shouldnt have gone to last rack butch had great chance and dogged it lol to dry breaks if you hitting the break hard or make 2 balls of the break its very easy to miss a dry break no problem.. but if cut breaking esp myself am very wary of dry breaks and always looking out for 3 point rule especially on match tables as dont hit the cut break as hard as i do on the purple cloth. with cloth been much faster and slippy.. i could mention names but i no need ,but its in memory bank these ppl will not get away with it against me ,so thats all what matters far as am concerned... also certainly none of the top players far as i know, esp me as knocked imrans achievement on the gb9 tour this year its pretty amazing really and prob never happen again esp on the equipment we play on as need luck aswell as play very good but at same time he does have the best cut break in the world in my opinion so the equipment suits him so well.. plus the fact he is a very good player and hard to beat on any equipment never mind tapped tables with big pockets. but some clowns on this thread and other thread seem to think the top players are knocking him for winning i certainly am not knocking the guy for winning, and am sure others not too. if i dont win it doesnt matter to me who else wins will not change my life, yes am great pals with andy,karl,scott/lee/simons/martin/etc as know them the longest and go back long way so always look for them to do well. but end of day the matters closed now imrans responded people will rather agree or disagree.. lets hope the next event the rules can be changed and the worlds best referee will be there in melvin harley he will not take any nonsense from anyone but at same time great guy. lets hope the tour grows and goes onwards and upwards as it as potential to get much bigger... there good weekend away and very professional run.. lets hope all the players can play to rules of the game and make the game more professional,in which is the only way to take the sport forward keep up the good work gb9 team. Well said daz. I can't say much as typing with one finger with left hand lol so I'll just say... Mel can't make Stretford as he is on hol but will be in Mansfield. Break rule: V diff one this and even GB9 team could not all agree except we agreed with player opinion in that *something* had to change. As a team we'll continue our 'healthy debate' when we meet up at the next event. In the meantime we will trial 9 on the spot but everything else the same. We are not ready to give up the 3 point rule just yet am afraid but after this affair I expect people will be a little more vigilant at break time. seems the right way to go Riggers i played a mate on a tapped table and an un-tapped table...and enjoyed playing on the un-tapped table more. Breaking hard, not getting a ball...made me want to break harder to possibly get another ball (i know it isnt always the case...). I practice on a tapped table as its probably the best in the club...but i still break just as hard as i would on an un-tapped table.

so your saying its easier to pot 2 balls with a soft break on tapped tables with 9 on the spot that with tapped tables with 1 on the spot. I think you got it the wrong way round buddy

he might be a master at making 2 balls while the nine is on the spot. If so, you all might be in trouble!!!
