You must be looking at the wrong list, follow the route that I mentioned earlier and you will come across names, like Boyes, Holtz, Hundal, Fulcher, Margola, Ahasan, Lawrence, Rinaldis etc.

When the time comes you will be able to see them in action via the link that I will post on here

The tournament gets underway today, 4 groups will play Friday and four tomorrow Saturday.
Information and results can be found on www.confederacionpool.com, click on the images on the left hand side of the page and then on "resultados"
on the main panel, scroll down to "LUGO 08 OPEN INTERNACIONAL GRUPO A" etc

There is aslo a web cam in operation , click on the menu on the left hand side.

First match on TV today is Paddy McLoughlin versus Paquito Diaz, this starts at 10.00 am UK time.

Also playing today is Raj Hundal Grupo A, Mohammed Ahasan Grupo B, Jonni Fulcher Grupo D.

I will try and keep you updated as the day goes on.

Mixed results for he BRits on the first day.
Mohammed Ahasan (Bangladesh) went two and out losing to two very good Spaniards, Paris Comas 5-8 and Dani Gaspar 7-8.
Raj Hundal won his first two matches 8-2 and 8-2 before he suffered a defeat by Raul Hebles 5-8 winner of this event last year.
He made no mistakes on the losers side and punished the mistakes by his opponent and had an easy 8-0 victory.
Paddy McLoughlin had a tough match with Paquito Diaz, 6-1 down at one stage he recovered and found himself at 6-7. Paquito with a lucky snooker won the frame that mattered and sent Paddy to the loser's side.
Three victories 8-2, 8-6 and 8-2 put him within reach of qualifying for the final phases but he then ran up against the 16 year old Paco Sanchez who will be representing Spain in the Junior division of the European Championships nect month, an 8-4 win for the youngster saw the Irishman out of the tournament,
Jonni Fulcher had no problems getting through to the last stages with a bye and two victories 8-7 and 8-3.
Tomorrow, Karl Boyes plays the first TV match at 12.00 UK time against one of the top female players Mayte Ropero.
He is a bit worried as there is a big party tonight for all the players of the Spanish Championships ( probably about a 1000 people) and I hear that Boyzi is a bit of a party animal. We will see, there might be some photos tomorrow.

Hey all! just thought I'd say a big thanks to Peter so far for the great organization. He kindly arranged a pick up for us at the airport and we were taken directly to our hotels and then to the venue.

The venue itself is stunning and after playing today I can say the the quality of the equipment is first rate, at least on a par with Eurotour. The people are great too... everyone greets you with huge smiles and the beer and food are good!

So far I'm really enjoying myself and looking forward to the party tonight! It's rumored that Miss Spain will be putting in an appearance. I believe     Huidji See seems quite keen on meeting her and maybe getting some photos! Let's see!
