I notice people are looking for words rhyming with M but his surname G? As in Hurricane Higgins and Whilwind white? Let's have some good superlatives beggining with G.

I think you should run a pole Dave ;)

My vote would probably go for 'The Marksman - Mark Gray'.

Hey Dave when the commentators use the nickname during the WPM do you think you could get Luke to give PRO9 a mention as to the source of the nickname ? :-) Just a thought !

^^^ Ooooh that's a good idea - get a plug for us!

Also a very good idea about the poll, in fact Matchroom have suggested a poll on Pro9 to choose Mark's official "pool name" for his appearance in the upcoming World Pool Masters in Las Vegas.

I've also just spoken to Mark and he's way up for it! He's gonna send me a PM with half a dozen options chosen from this thread that he doesn't mind and then he agrees to abide by the Pro9'ers decision!

Get in there!!!

There can be only one "Shooter"

My favourite is Maestro.

Earl is ok but it has a "yankee" ring about it!

I can't think of anything good myself except maybe something to do with his first name and his last name........."Dark--something!!!

Oh I give up......Maestro wins it!

THE SHOOTER.

Mark "The Earl" Gray is royal, distinguished, and dignified - it reeks of quality!

You're thinking of "My Name is Earl" and Earl Strickland - don't... I'm thinking of "King" James Rempe, The Maharajah Imran Majid, The Prince of Pool Corey Deuel, and The Earl - Mark Gray!

Royal themes abound in pool, think of the Duchess of Doom etc!

The Earl is perfect even if the tea aspect doesn't come across. It's says class and is relaxed and easy going whilst being the best.

Earl Gray for me is the winner. Other G nicknames include, the general, the gentleman, the gem, the gifted, the grandmaster or grenade gray.

I give up. Surely there's one on this forum to pick?

Having just got back from the "tuesday night out with my dad", which I will soon miss when he moves to AZ with my bro!
We discussed this, along with his many inventions and stuff and stuff,
and EARL is the new winner!
EARL is the UK rival to, as BDK says, King, Duchess, etc.
Go for it Mark!
UK Royalty you definitely are!

SHOOTER. (There can be only one!) lol.
