the tables are pretty quick, all of the tables were brand new last april when the club was refurbished and the cloth hasnt yet been changed. Overall they are fairly true but in line with rileys policy lol there are one or two which can give a dodgy roll from time to time.

Just out of interest how many runners were there and what was the prize fund? Sounds like a good event.

The number of runners was a bit disappointing this time - 27.

Prize fund was therefore 270

Winner 130
R/Up 50
Losing Semi's 25
Losing QF's 10

Well done to Ossie and Phil for reaching the final, it looked to me that the standard of play was a lot higher this time than the tournament we ran last month.

mention also to Mark Hughes who won the flyer for players knocked out of group stages, 8 players entered the 5 a go flyer.

Hopefully there will be a tournament report on pro9 later this week with a couple of photos

:-D

yes cheers james. great tournament me and my mates all enjoyed it and hope you have another one next month. shame about the turn out but the format gave great value for money with a guaranteed minimum of 6 best of 9 matches. cheers mate, tom emes

I think we would have definitely had more had it not been mothers day. I was hoping for more than 40 this time

to be honest it felt like more what with the round robin stages....would love to go back there! even though the cloths are a bit worn the tables are still very playable (yet another club that could do with tappers big dave) racking the balls tight was a problem however nobody got stressed about it....really friendly place! :D

3 of the tables are being reclothed in the next couple of weeks Phil, unfortunately thats as far as rileys budget extends at the moment.

The tournament report will hopefully be on here by monday.

I am not sure when we will hold another tournament now it may not be for a couple of months but i'm sure we'll get a better attendance with all these positive comments.

Jamie
