wasnt referring to that was referring to many other players...that did it over weekend and some players admitting it... i find it disgusting...

just this moment seen the last 2 racks of final

dont know how butch missed the 5 ball to win 11-9 his words were major tweak

at 10-10 cant believe butch didnt notice the dry break obviously he must have been thinking of the missed 5 ball rack before.., and its a blatent dry break ... even more surprisingly surely riggers and co must have been watching...

ridiculous really...

Totally agree......no names mentioned (even though i think its disgusting)
I told the player that did this to me what i thought straight to his face.....so he knows along with the many people/players that were watching.

agree its only the small minority not owning upto dry breaks...

sometimes u dont realise esp when hit them hard and make 2balls... it happened to me and alan millership pulled me up and glad he did... and its happened before...

but when u only make one ball of the break ur automatically thinking about the point rule esp with slow cut break ,i use the cut break but dont hit the cut break as soft as some others.

but have seen it too many times now ,and players some of them told me they knew they dry breaked ...not mentioning no names ,and one of them really good friend of mine needless to say i wasnt happy with him ,and he regrets it now but it shouldnt happen ,dont lower yourself to other peoples level ,

this why the rule should be scrapped, why should some players get a advantage and the honest players get punished joke?

time to put the 9 on the spot and start playing a proper game..

i enjoy the weekends away lot of nice people... but playing side of it in my opinion is not enjoyable to play and boring to watch...

unless andy appleton v scott higgins lllllllloooolllllllll

We would like to thank you for your kind words about our club and staff, and would like to say it was a pleasure having you all here. We really enjoyed having lots going on, and felt there wasnt a bad customer all weekend (apart from the jumper you know who you are lol...). Great weekend, all the staff are nackered but really enjoyed trying to make a great weekend for you guys. And hope you will be back soon, maybe sort some b&b deals next time as there are a lots of you guys. Thanks again

Having watched that final rack just now, scott must be devastated at not noticing the foul break..

As daz has just said he just sat there totally pre occupied with 5 ball..

On the subject of honesty and sportsmanship i must give a mention to both mark gray and scott himself as they both made foul breaks against me yesterday at very crucial points in the match...

The key being i noticed neither and would have just sat there had they not done the correct and sporting thing...

Cant believe someone didnt ref the final as i thought that was what usually happened....

last shout to scott who should take this weekend as a serious character builder and move on.......

WISH ALL GB9'S WERE AT SCARBOROUGH !!!

Just got home about 8pm. Very tired now.

Thanks for the kind words, particularly about the club and the staff of Rileys Scarborough. I'm glad people made their views known about Kelly and her team because they really were a class above in every respect.

As for all the other comments on this thread... Well despite some kind words from some clearly we are not doing enough and not running this tour properly. We cannot get the rules right, and obviously as well as all the pre-tournament work I do instead of doing my day job properly and all the effort put into the event itself (when I'm actually supposed to be playing like the rest of you), I should also be watching the matches and refereeing them. Or perhaps Shir should be refereeing the final as well as everything else she's had to do in her 17 hour days?

Think I'll take up golf again.

p.s. Thanks very much to Big Dave for all your hard work reporting on the event and publishing the results, especially after such a long journey home.

I'm going to sleep now and back to my day job for a while. Time for some time away from pool for a while.

u got wrong end of stick as usual pal

nobody knocking the work you put in and how well its run , all thats first class... and we appreciate that well i certainly do..

but regards to sportmanship well thats out of your hands ,thats down to each individual and unfortunatley were in a game that world wide ppl dont care how they win. and because of that reason these people are spoiling the rules and not playing to them.. which then fumes a few players and questions need to be asked about changing the rules so it can be stopped.... and my view only way is 9 on the spot and forget the 3 point rule ..

Sounds like you and Shir have put up a great event once again, Lee! Keep up the good work. I know how hard it is to run single tournaments, and I would never even consider running a tour, with 3 different tournaments during the weekend!

Good luck in the last 2 weekends. Perhaps we will meet at a qualifier for next season!

Sportsmanship - unfortunately a substantial percentage of players who might know the meaning of the word find it difficult to put into practice when they cross the white line.

Let's throw another word in the pot - respect. What people are actually doing is failing to show any respect whatsoever for fellow pool players / people. Why not simply play, allow your opponent to do the same within the rules of the game, and see who wins based on that. That means sitting down, shutting up, keeping still and quite, not talking about your opponent to other players or spectators before, during or after the match, as well as the other things in this thread.

Scarborough was a great venue and a great town and was something I had been looking forward to. Unfortunately I saw and heard some things this weekend which made me question why I spend a good proportion of my time out of work dedicated to something which at times infuriates me and leaves me wondering about other people's integrity and basic common decency towards others.

I very rarely vent my spleen, or throw toys out of the pram, but this weekend really got to me.

What a great weekend, not really sure where to start but here goes..

The club - Excellent, good tables, superb location within walking distance of loads of hotels and B&B's.

The Staff - Extremely friendly, helpful, and good fun.

The Organisation - As always this was excellent! Lee and Shir do an amasing job running 3 tournaments (4 if you count the plate) over the weekend.

Finally, thanks for a great weekend to all involved, I'm already looking forward to going back to Scarborough next year.
