This weekend the Austrian Open Eurotour took place in the Patrick’s Tavern in Rankweil. Two hundred sixteen players entered, trying to claim their share of the € 44.000 purse. Thomas Engert won the German Open only three weeks ago, but was not able to produce the extraordinary fact of booking a successive Eurotour win. He lost against ‘the Maharaja’ Imran Majid in the last 32 on Saturday morning......

Daz was penalised 1 frame for hitting the balls in frustration at going in off........with the score at 8-3, it meant he had lost the match.

Well done Imran on yet another Euro Tour final. Imran said.... 'Nick played perfect, nowt I could do......'

The kicking and kick safes in that final simply amazed me.

Yes, well done Imran and well done to all the other UK lads who qualified. We've been treated to some incredible results in the last 12 months but let's not be greedy - on balance this was a great performance by the brits. 5 players made the last 16 and from then on they only lost to either another brit or the eventual champion who played flawless pool.

Congratulations also to Nick who seems to be right at the top of his game again. An absolutely class act as a player, and a complete gentleman. If a brit wasn't going to win I couldn't think of anyone I'd rather see win right now.
