Chris is Tony Drago turning up this year? I know he did last year along with Imran and Shotgun. I told Tony to slow down abit and that he'd win more. I'm really pleased that he took my advice and tossed it in the bin.
Entertaing and a champ - what a combination.

Please can you all be on time, if you decide not to play then please can you call Chris on 07968167792 so can fill the space with another player. It would also help Chris in starting the tournament on time. Practice from 10am but you can you register before practice. Thank you for your co-operation.

Chris or anyone else, is there a proposed prize money breakdown for this tournament yet? Also, what % of the entry fee will go towards the prize fund?

When you are collecting entry fee's on the day you cannot give a proposed prize money breakdown as you well know people put there names on the list but do not turn up. So I personally do not like giving a figure to find out that i cannot keep to it so therefore no prize money breakdown until the end of the tournament. No Dress Code (but no birthday suits either must have some form of clothing on) Thanks James will take you off the list. [ This message was edited by: Blackref on 2008-06-12 20:01 ]

I have to say i am not very happy with your answer to the prizes. Surely once registration is closed you will know how many people are there, how much they have paid (and hence a total pool fund), what your overheads are, your fee, and how many places you wish to reward and in what ratio. Having said you are an experienced tournament organiser i'd expect you to know and make clear the prizes, even if you say based on x amount of entries

Thanks for your response Chris but is it not possible to give a % breakdown of prize money given 40 entries? For example whether the winner will get 20% or 40% of the prize fund could make a big difference on quality and quantity of players that turn up on the day.
Also, if 40 players play then can you give any idea as to how many players will be included in the payouts, will the top 8 or top 16 be paid etc?
Thanks for your help.

no prize money breakdown until the end of the tournament I appreciate that you don't know how many people will turn up but the prize fund and breakdown MUST be known before any play commences, I am sure all players will agree with me on that otherwise players that get knocked out in the top 16 rather than top 8 will be arguing for the top 16 to get paid whereas those in the top 8 will be arguing for a top-heavy breakdown, etc. Also, I presume Rileys have a fee as do you for taking the trouble to oversee and organise this competition. Based on a 40 strong field then what % of entry monies will be contributed to the prize fund? ----------------- Conceive, Believe, Achieve!
