First of all what a cracking weekend and well done to Shir and the team for a great event.
I have started sorting through the 17 hours worth of tape that we shot during the weekend!
It is the plan to get the first instalment available to view on Sunday - the last 16 match between Chris Melling & Craig Osborne.
In order to speed up the process I am only making 3 bitrates available 256, 400 & 800 kbps. If your connection speed is less than 256kbps then at this time you will not be able to view.
Other bitrates will become available as and when I have time.
At future events there may be the opportunity for live commentary of the matches and anyone that is interested can send an email to enquiries @ cuesport.tv (remove spaces!)

Have you seen our advertising rates? Seriously, how about a link to Pro9 somewhere prominent at least? [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2008-02-06 09:51 ]

Dunno what it was like to watch? I played real bad at the beginning, then Chris missed a couple balls in the middle to let me back in the match which im sure he wasnt happy with, certainly uncharacteristic misses from both players.... think it got alot better towards the end though..... Osborne...... Loved the 1st tourne, would love to do the first live commentary session at the next event...... Please bring microphones!

How would this actually work? Hope it wouldn't be like the IPT internet match with Earl and Johnny Archer where the players could actually hear every word Sigel and Grady were saying.
"This is a tricky one" or "the match depends on this" might not go down too well within earshot of the player in question!

lol, that'd take an even better mental game to get through, can you imagine the pressure when somebody says "This is very tricky, this is the most important ball in the match"
Saying that what happenes when commentators suggest shots that could be played, such as "He could attempt the bank with an element of safety" bit unfair lol

These guys have done it before, I don't imagine it would be within earshot as this would definately be a distraction to the players. I believe there is a booth so possibly it will be soundproofed.

Due to restrictions in the club environment we would not have a "booth", however we would have a monitor linked to the cameras through a live feed, it is from this monitor that the commentary would be made.

sounds good to me, i wouldnt swear. ive done it a few times on euro tour in both the Yank / american accent or professionally british... personally think it would be much more entertaining to give it some american spice and have a laugh or 2.
Im sure the participants wouldnt mind when watching it back....

Just a question about accessing the videos etc...
I have tried to access the interviews from Solihull but I cannot get them to play. Each video appears multiple times in the scrolling menu, just wondering if there is only one link that has the content or if none of them are online at the moment?

In the main schedule you can click on things in the past but not into the future. But as Riggers has just said if you type GB9 into the search box and hit go the 3 videos (so far) from the Midlands Classic appear at the bottom. You can then watch them from there.
There is a 30 second vid that plays in front of each of the content sections - I know it is boring but it stops us from having to rebuild whole sequences if we ever get any advertising!
