The Official WPC thread worked pretty well, lets try and keep all the Mosconi talk in this thread. Who are you picking? IMO I think this is the strongest US Team in years. Although individually the Europeans are fantastic, I am not too sure how they will fare collectively. Come on Europe! [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2007-12-12 18:05 ]

I think that with the soft break taken out, the Americans may have the edge, but anything can happen, and so I'm definitely not counting Europe out of this one Willie

USA easy! Like stated before, its the strongest team they have (ever?) had, and although our boys are good players, Its hard to see a euro triumph. What with it being in the USA, and our horrible Mosconi record. Still, will cheer them on all the way. EEEEUUUUURRRRROOOOPPPPEEEE! (Oh, and my prediction, 11-7 USA - But my heart says 11-4 Europe)

im not sure on this, one of two things could happen. The USA had a very, very poor WPC and they will want to bounce back from this by retaining the mosconi cup. They are either going to do this with tremendous force and have a very big scoreline or continue their run of poor results and letting it slip. TBH i actually do thing that the europeans are the better team, but the hard break is going to play its part and does help the USA.
Im thinking 11-9 Europe

The US have a great bunch of players but you can't ignore the fact that European pool is buzzing right now so they are in with a great chance. I just hope all our boys play well and it's as close an exciting as last year. Europe 11-10 for me.

Well in my local rileys they are not showing the pool as it is poker night.
Now i understand that they have to make profit where they can but it just seems strange that a pool club is more interested in poker that pool.
And it anoying that i cant watch it now.

Man, that does seem a little odd - and annoying!
Well, there is a online webcast? Depends how much you want to watch it.

When it comes to getting good TV coverage of the Mosconi, unless you got Sky Sports or ESPN, there's little chance of being able to watch it, untill someone uploads the matches individually online.

My Prediction is Europe 11-9, i agree all the big chain pool halls seem to promote poker above everything else....
So glad they came on board with the new GB9 tour though otherwise where would the UK pool scene be then!!!!!!!

world pool championships as no bearing on mosconi cup, mosconi cup different conditions ,different format, different pressure, more pressure, experience very important, and usa play in proper conditions all time in america no tapped table trash and massive buckets like the silly rules we play on euro tour which only helps lesser players!i believe there playing proper pool with hard break and maybe break in box,or 9 on spot if the case usa massive odds on favs for me,few of the americans been playing well in america since worlds. all 5 of there players would make european team same cant be said for our europeans lads,am afraid. but like i said i hope am wrong and somehow are boys pull of probably would be biggest shock in mosconi cup history! good luck europe!
