I'm sorry I couldn't be at the event this weekend - but the dates clashed with a family wedding in the Lake District.
My car was filled with family and luggage, but I managed to squeeze in a couple of items to make a single table display stand, so at least The Pro Shop had a presence at the tournament.
Hopefully many of you will have noticed the new cue lathe - yes, I've finally made good on my threat to invest in a lathe for The Pro Shop - and it will be in action at GB9BallTour Event 3 offering a perfect tip fitting service for GB9'ers and visitors of the tournament. I will be doing the tip work myself, and between now and then I'll be visiting the knowledgeable "Nipper" for some pointers on the finer details on lathe work, and I'll have been through a box or two of tips before I let myself loose on your precious equipment - but I think it's essential to be able to get decent tips fitted with a lathe, it was always something that bugged me when I was a player, and hopefully you'll appreciate the service as much as I would have if it had been available at the time when I was playing, so please remember to get your cues retipped at Event 3 and bring any spare shafts/friend's shafts/broom sticks that you want retipped too, as I want it to be busy.
I see the complimentary chalk definitely got noticed - I'm glad you liked it... I could see it was going to be very popular as it was flying out of the box in the few minutes that I was there - but I'm not sure how we got through all 144, when it was supposed to be one each, and there were only 95 players!!!

Classic!
Pool players crack me up... As I was driving back from the wedding (which was brilliant by the way) I was thinking to myself, "I wonder if there'll be any chalk left... I bet there isn't!" hahahaha - I smiled a grin as wide as an ocean when I saw my prediction came true!
Hey, that's what it was there for, and I'm glad it went to a good home.
Just make sure you take one of The Pro Shop's business cards next time and give it to someone who can make good use of it - I noticed not too many of those had gone - typical!

I hope you all had a good tournament - as I said earlier I'll return to Event Three, and we'll continue the running of the Break and Dish competition - yes, I've still got the money (I didn't spend it all on the lathe)... If you remember, the total prize pot is within a couple of quid of 1,000, so I'm sure you'll be pleased to see that return!
If anyone has any questions - fire away!
