The End Of An Era!It seems strange to start a forum thread with a farewell, but this will be GB9 co-founder Lee Rigby's final event as tournament director. I'm sure no one can even come close when guessing the phenomenal amount of work that Lee has put into the GB 9 Ball Tour - from member admin, event preparation, finances, cash flow, tax, wages, making the original website, helping to develop the live streaming, AND the bespoke live scoring software, the list is simply endless. What can be quantified is the fabulous result of those efforts... A superb national tour that can confidently argue to be one of the best the world has to offer. To show our appreciation of Lee's contribution to American Pool in the UK, the players and staff gave him a card smothered in well-wishing messages, from so many people there was no room left. He was also presented with a beautiful Ingersoll watch, awarded an honorary lifetime membership of the tour, and presented with a commemorative plaque. Looking a little bit emotional, Lee thanked the players and asked everyone to continue to support the tour going forward. Andy Warden, who has been Tour Chairperson for the last two years will now take on additional responsibilities. Here are a couple of photos of the presentation. I hope you feel the same as I do and have time to wish good luck to both Lee and Andy for the future. [ This message was edited by: Administrator on 2013-11-30 18:52 ]

Thanks guys. It was really very sweet of everyone and I was very touched. Am not sure about coming out of retirement Tony as I don't have a cue anymore but one thing I have always wanted to do is to play in the Paul Medati Trophy as my last event at GB9 also sadly turned out to be Paul's last too (Paul finished 5th in that event). So all being well I'll manage to borrow a cue and play in that one. Other than that I still have a lot of work to do preparing for the new GB9 season (I'm still responsible for that until 31/12/13) and particularly all the software changes for the new format. Then I'll be looking forward to a more stress free 2014 where I can spend more time with my family and out with my camera and less time at the computer. I'll still be attending the events to do some streaming but won't have to arrive 1 or 2 days early and set up and won't be involved in the running of them. Thanks again everyone for the support over the last 6 years and for the kind words this weekend. It's been a real privilege to be involved in GB9 and I've loved (almost) every minute of it. Your tour is in great hands now and I think 2014 will be the best season yet. [ This message was edited by: Riggers on 2013-12-02 15:13 ]

However nice it is to be reminded of this particular forum thread, I'm obviously going to have to do some serious work banning the entirety of IP addresses from Pakistan, because again, this is another script kiddie from Paikistan testing hacks that register forum accounts and cut and paste text from previous posts. Resurrecting ancient threads like this is really annoying, so in future ABSOLUTELY ALL Pakistan IPs will be blocked to prevent this, as it's happening more and more frequently. This will mean that if you are in Pakistan you won't be able to view Pro9 at all. Here comes the ban hammer!
