No offence but arfan bang on. gb9 nothing against i can see what you mean Andy but your enticing all the top foriegn players to come over for what seems a one off event like a euro tour in my eyes and probably many eyes this event will be full of europes finest and you wont get many of our lads from over here supporting gb9 if they don't think they have got a chance gb9 has had a bad year for prize money we all know that and its gone but surely to get support and players for the season of gb9 2014 any added money should be on a gb9 tour stop not a one off added event . We could get likes of ralf van den berg nikos for one event and doing well but we wont see them again look what happened this year ralf got a grand for final against burford we ain't seen him since and cant blame him

For me this is GB9 doing the right thing, experimenting with another event like this gives us the chance to explore another option for gb9 weekends... 3 events could be just what the doctor ordered, but unless we try we will not know....
Do you not think the gb9 have not thought the ralf souquet example earlier mentioned already?? Surely whatever brings more players to our shores the better?! And if you think otherwise then for me you need to get your head out of the sand.... Pool in this country has never been in a healthier state. Yes this season has been poor financially for players but that's all been explained, it's a players tour and we know if we support it then next year could be much better.
If anyone is worried about the Europeans coming over and nicking the pot, it's simple

Cont.... Get your fool on the table and practice, stop bitching about getting beat and do something about it.... Lastly, I always have and always will want to play the best players when I can. If GB9 are making progress on bringing those names to our country so we don't have to travel, awesome!!
Looking forward to all the events lee and team! Keep up the fabulous work!

Fingers crossed bud! And I completely respect where you are coming from too.... It's a very expensive weekend, well 5 day break even! I guess this one is us kind of us giving a euro tour event ago and seeing how we fair, it's very similar apart from 2 events instead of 1 which for me gives that extra value for money! Some people go on the eurotour and crash and burn after 2 matches and are there for the full 4/5 days depending on flights etc... Maybe all those guys will want to come here because of the value for money 2 events? I guess we will have to wait and see?? .... Fingers crossed!

well played GB9. Open tournaments with less stipulations i.e. hotel stay for whole tournament or membership necessity has got "more entries" written all over it imo. Why are "players" moaning at this?? Madness! More players could mean more players actually joining the tour next season which in turn would mean more prize money once they see what a fantastic tournament with second to none conditions is on offer. Good luck with this tournament, I may well even dust off my cue for this one and put in some practise! Anthony Ginn.

It's says on the site that the closing date is now 31st October. Is that now correct?

No Stephen can't play any events sanctioned by the EPBF as the WPA are upholding the ban. Our top players we're being threatened with sanctions and loss of world ranking points if they played an event with him in it.

It's a pity one way, but a bans a ban. He'll have to go the states and Philippines and play for money, does that apply to him playing on the whole GB9 tour [ This message was edited by: tigger147 on 2013-10-30 18:48 ]
