Can you advise what your thoughts are around a club that may only get 12 (3 teams) people and a club that may get 40 people (10 teams).
Is there a plan on how many games each team will need to play to make it fair across the board for league (individual) standings?
Are you thinking about a ratio per team, the reason I ask is that if a team has 1 person who may only play one match and win, then that person would be on 100%. If you go from a total wins POV, then how will it work if one club has less teams than another club.....cant seem to think of a consitent sloution. Also if you work on a home and away basis (enev though in the same club) a club with only 3 teams would only play 6 matches (total) on that scenario, where as a club with 10 teams would play 20!....
Sorru if you have answered this somewhere, i cant seem to find it anyway, or on the website....wondered if you can help...
Cheers P Hi Paddy hope you had a great xmas. I'll answer your question in a mo, but would just like to say to everyone thank you for the interest you have shown in the GB9 Leagues. This is the 100th post, and the thread has been read 3500 times!. Memberships are coming in daily and more clubs confirm by the day. If you want to play in the leagues you must let us know soon, and also let your club manager know so they can put your name on the lists in each club. Q&A Each player, playing a singles match will be awarded points for a win. Where a club has say 12 players (4 Teams) they will play each other 3 times over the course of 12 weeks, whereas a club with 36 players would only play each team once in the 12 week period. The equalizer for this where for example there might be one very strong player in a club, is that your points are only relevant to the position you enter the regional events. Once final numbers are in (members) i will release the formats for regional and the national final. PLEASE DONT FORGET, You pick your own teams, so if you have registered already, make sure your team mates have as well. If you dont have a team, let your manager of your club know so he can add your name to a list of others whom are looking for team mates. Big Tone

Thoughts Hi Paddy No problem, here it is again. Players earn points, it is not based on percentages of wins. Highest points per club/region go through to nationals. Big Tone

What advantages are there in joining the county as well as the league if you already have a place on the challenge tour?

You get to play in a large regional team seven times throughout the year with the top team earning Big Cash. Estimated Prize Fund for the "county" is £15k!! Plus for those not qualified for the Tour, qualifying spots are available. Big Tone [ This message was edited by: BigTone on 2009-12-28 16:49 ]

Big Tone Hi BT, thanks for that. Can you advise when this set up will be up on the website or if you can explain in a little more detail? how the points will work etc?

Hi Tony
Tried to phone you but my vodaphone trash phone is playing silly buggers. Could you phone me at home when you read this I need, if at all possibler for you to extend our deadline for league entries
It's not that our managers cant multi task, but obviously with the busiest time of the year in nearly all the clubs, there is so much they have to contend with, and many have emailed me regarding the possibility of such an extension
Sorry to be a pain, but it would really help the clubs and the leagues out if such a possibility could be granted
Dont want to be seen courting favours but logistically sorting out so many clubs and accurately monitoring levels of interest is proving much more problematic than anticipated
chat soon
ps. belated xmas geetings to all pro9 users and hope you all have a great new year

Hi Tony, I spoke with the manager (James) at Wealdstone and he confirmed 2 things for me.
1. Wealdstone league night will be a MONDAY, not Wednesday as in your list.
2. Getting people to sign up is going very slowly.
I believe they would get a quicker/increased uptake if the club had some of the application forms printed and were allowed to take the fee (with filled in form) on behalf of GB9Leagues and then pass this on to you.
At the moment all they can do is tell anyone who may be interested to go to the GB9Leagues website for further details and to sign up and this cannot even be done in the club because there is currently no public internet access aparently..

Hi Colin,
Theres plenty of interest at Wealdstone, and your manager has the application forms already (they are on an internal email, and were supplied about 2 weeks ago).
As for payments, these cannot be taken by the club. If the applicant dos'nt want to use paypal, or pay with a card they can always just send a cheque.
Happy New Year to you.

Do we still need to get teams in by today Jan 4th?
I don't know if we have enough people at our club and have not seen any list of people. I have entered 7 people but thats only 2 teams. What happens now?

Hi All
As usual in the pool world, there has been a lot of last minute interest and people asking questions by email instead of reading the website or this thread.
Also Howard (Rileys) has asked for some more time due to late enquiries.
So, on Wednesday this week, i will be meeting with Rileys to work out timescales, in the meantime, please, if your thinking of entering do so.
The later you leave it the more work your creating for me.
PS: if youve already paid up - thank you, Dont worry about team registrations for a few days, i'll be in touch via email shortly with these details.
pps. Contra - if its bournemouth or brighton your refering to, theirs plenty of interest. keep an eye out for emails.
Cheers All
