any reason was this was scheduled to clash with the Euros ?, seems a pity some of the players cant play in both, and also all clashes with world snooker qualifiers

At the Player's Meeting they explained that it was because they had to choose the GB9 dates particularly early this year, I believe because GB9 is touring around hotels this season.

All the stats are on the GB9 website for all to view, but in a nutshell. 85 players attended, including several who made an international trip to be here including several players from Spain and Italy!

Another great run event by the GB9 team as always. I just hope the players appreciate the difficulties that the tour has encountered this year. I'm sure everything will be better than ever next year when the tour is in a better position. Keep up the good work peeps On and ps, well done to the machine great win

Call me ignorant but what are the difficulties that the tour has encountered this year?
As an outsider looking in it all looks good to me. I've noted that the turnout hasn't been so hot for this and the last event but it seems players have more options than ever. I can't afford to be a full member but I'm hoping to play a one-off event this season.

It's a long story Phil, but one that Lee explained at the players meeting. Put it this way, next year is going to be the best year ever for GB9 IMO.

Also from a personal point of view, I really enjoyed this weekend. I actually got to play 7 matches overall..which was unheard of for me before this season.

If I'm truly honest I was very stressed out in the run up to this event and dreading it because of the poor turnout by GB9 standards. But it was a pleasant surprise that it ended up being one of the most enjoyable events for a long time. And despite the low numbers it's great to see £1700 paid to the main event winner and £300 to Challenge. As some have said we should see great things for the tour next season if people continue to support us.
I hope the players felt the same as me.

Riggers, I said it to you after the players meeting that you had done the right thing explaining everything to all who bothered to stick around.... It was perfect articulation giving us all the info we needed, the rationale and the plans... The tour is great mate, we can all understand why things are the way they are - and we are to eager to forget where we have come from sometimes.
It was never going to get handed to us on a plate ( an amazing tour in hotels with the best playing conditions that is) and there will always be bumps in the journey.... That's life!
Keep up all the work!!! It's not the players we have to worry about turning up, it's whether you guys will stay motivated to continue to produce what you do event in and event out..... The players will be back I'm sure of it.

I believe there will be enough players supporting the tour this year to take us into what could be the most prestigious year ever next year....
Fingers crossed I'm right!
