Just 10 spaces remaining. Guys remember payments are due in by tomorrow. We are being strict on this rule as it guarentees the best event possible and means players can travel in good faith knowing the entries fees are paid up in advance. also means we can get organised and put a draw and match times up as soon as the event is full. Looking at the entry list, its hard to pick a winner here. Which is exciting and Tom Staveley has proved that with the sponsorship it really helps players improve there game. There is also prize money available on the day. This is a brilliant opportunity here so enter now and lets have a full field of players. [ This message was edited by: wildman147 on 2014-10-02 09:36 ]

You think singo is going to be the winner Robin? Good player. I'd say in with a good chance but there are quite a few others just as capable.

Its Rookie time and although I can only enter the plate myself, I’m sure am looking forward to running this event. The field is capped at a -1 handicap but don’t let that fool you, there are some top class players in the field. This is in my opinion a very open event and there are several players in contention for the prize money, Trophy and Sponsorship for future T9B Events.
Let’s began with last season Winner, Jaspal Bamotra
Jazz seems to have come into some form again just at the right time as he looks to make a successful defence of his rookie crown. Jazz just 2 weeks ago reached the Final of the Amateur Series event 9. Jazz is a top class player, his snooker background means his potting is crazy good at times but his down side is he sometimes beats himself. As I regularly say to Jazz if he comes in the right frame of mind and with a winning mentality he is going to be hard to beat.
Prediction - Semi Finalist
Tom Staveley
Tom Staveley for whatever reasons doesn’t win as often as he should. I would bet he is the most hard working player in the field on the practice table but needs to convert that into winning events. Tom has won an Amateur Series event this season which is a higher standard than this event so the opportunity is there for Tom this weekend. I think Tom will perform well at this event but seems to produce his best when up against top amateur/professional competition and perhaps loses a few matches that he shouldn’t. I can see Tom playing well This Saturday but can see him losing out in a tense Semi Final Match that goes all the way to the wire.
Prediction – Semi Final
Brian Cassidy
Brian Cassidy has shown his class in the side events at T9B in fact he is a bit of a side event specialist. Brian plays 9ball very well and his potting at times is outrageously good. I think Brian is more than capable of taking down this event down and think he will go into it as one of the favourites. Brian’s last event was at the High Wycombe Hurricane Room where he played well reaching the Quarter Finals. In Brian’s last appearance at St Albans he reached the Final beating some top players but just falling short against Craig Osborne in the Final. I think Brian will reach the final of this event again but may just be edged out by Dave Evans in a close finish.
Prediction - Runner Up
Dave Evans
I think Dave’s was playing the best pool of his 9ball career just a couple of months ago as he led the Amateur Series Ranking list and was cashing in most events he entered. Unfortunately due to Dave moving house we haven’t seen him in an event for the last few events so his current form is unknown but his ability is never in doubt, an awesome player at times with a massive Break. Dave has come very close to winning T9B events in the past and I think after a small break he will return stronger.
Prediction – Winner
A few players to watch out for…
Paul Taylor - has been on fire as of late and looks hard to beat off his handicap of 0. Paul recently defeated Craig Osborne 7v6 in the Quarter Final of our Sunday series event held at Colindale. Which will have been a big confidents boost and if he hits the same gear then Saturday then he will be a player nobody wants to draw.
Kevin Woods – Kev is a local talent from St Albans, he is a bit under the radar as he doesn’t get a chance to enter many T9B events. The few times I have seen him play its been clear he is a very skilled player who in this field is very capable of doing some damage.
Wayne Rooke – Wayne was a Semi Finalist of the last Amateur Series event and that was at this venue which will stand him in good stead for this event. Again like Jazz, Wayne can be his own worst enemy but this weekend I think we will see Wayne at his best and if he stays focused for the event then he could be a contender for the trophy
Ashik Nathwani – Ashik has been in fine form recently. He won an amateur series event and has reached a few Semi Finals at T9B events. Ashik last weekend also won the GB9 qualifier in Solihull so he must come into this event with confidents of that impressive win. Ashik is a danger to any player in the field and could quite easily produce the goods needed to win this event.
